Brian Kelly probably is permanently safe at Notre Dame which is still a top 10-top 15 job in the country, even though I think their natty winning days are over.

He would never be safe at LSU. Just ask Coach O and Les Miles.

The Lincoln Riley move to Southern Cal makes more sense because of the offer Southern Cal gave him paired with the trajectory of Oklahoma and the fact that they are joining the SEC, shortly.

I don't have a clue why he'd even consider leaving ND, which has its own TV Network, to go to south Louisiana to compete every year with Bama, A&M, Florida, etc. Makes no sense.

Not sure about which is better financially, but I do know a coach has a better chance at winning a national championship at LSU than at ND

Kelly from ND to LSU would be a fall from grace. From Touchdown Jesus to Louisiana Voodoo.

Guess Brian Kelly likes losing to Alabama, now he'll get to do it every year instead of only twice in 11 years.

ND would be perfect for Urbie since he'd get to spend all year beating up the bottom of the ACC.

He isn't, but he's still too good for lsu, and I'd love to see him turn them down.

You know, if he is Catholic he would be closer to Mardi Gras. Maybe that is why he may take the job.

    Bless his soul.

Debatable. Recruiting to LSU is easier but the competition he faces at ND gives him an easier path every year.

I'm not understanding why Brian Kelly would leave ND. Especially for that mess.

BK has it good where he's at. Heck, ND is the media darling. To go to LSU and face that kind of schedule year after year, I just don't see it. The only way I could see him going is if he is close to hanging it up. Sign a big contract and when fired, he's set for life. Still, I don't see him going. I could see them going after Matt Rhule.

Well, Kelly did put a kid up in a scissor lift and got him killed (at around the same time that they had to forfeit two seasons of wins)—maybe he’d be a great fit for the corn dogs.

It seems to me that Finebaum and the rest of the media don’t want to acknowledge the whole title IX thing at LSU and how there could be consequences dished out by the NCAA on the LSU athletic department, mainly football. Further nobody in the media wants to say that this possibility is affecting their coaching search.

Essentially what I’m trying to say is it’s possible Lincoln Riley took a long look at LSU and reached this conclusion thus deciding taking wasn’t worth the risk of possibly navigating a program through multiple seasons of bowl ineligibility and reduced scholarships. Secondly, whose to say that Brian Kelly wouldn’t reach the same conclusion and remain at Notre Dame. LSU is screwed ladies and gentlemen and they did it to themselves.
