Last night the administration dumped some 42,000 pages of requested documents regarding SCOTUS nominee Bret Kavanaugh so that the judicial committee could review them. Of course, that is not possible and was the likely intent for the timing of the release. As his hearing started this morning, the Dems on the committee have not let the hearing begin - objecting to the process before it could officially begin. Also, there are a series of protesters that are being dragged out one by one screaming all the way. Sen Grassley has denied all requests for a delay to provide time for the documents to be reviewed. He read from written answers to all the objections. Kabuki theatre. Looks like another vote along party lines and that Kavanough's nomination will pass out of committee.
Hypocrisy again. How is it that these Republicans can cry foul over the ACA that was "jammed down the throats of Americans" (with months to review the documents and studies). But now this BS is just fine so long as they are in control. Disgusted and sick to death of this garbage the right continues to pull out of their backsides. Did I mention how much I detest hypocrisy.

Kavanaugh is most definitely qualified. However, it's a bit odd to cite to the ABA following the campaign to discredit it after it called out some of Trump's other judicial nominees for not being qualified.
I believe there are hundreds of thousands of pages of documents made available to the committee including all 300 cases that Kavanaugh adjudicated. I can only assume they haven't found anything untoward, or they wouldn't be holding out hope that another 46,000 pages might hold the smoking gun - when he wasn't a judge. 46,000 pages. My oh my. If the average senator read 100 pages a day it would only take him/her 12 1/2 years to read it all. How in god's name did they get through the hundreds of thousands of pages already made available? if they reviewed a case a day, it would take a year. me thinks this is all bullsh*t. But it makes for a great circus.
I believe that you are serious. It is the left that is being hypocritical. The Democrat's Obamacare legislation had to be passed before you could see what was in it, and now they complain that the Republicans did something similar to them. Classic.
It's basically a political show. The Democrats were getting some pushback from the left wing base for not opposing this nomination strongly enough and so they are making all the arguments they can. But they simply don't have the votes to do anything about it and they know it so they are grandstanding. The documents will be reviewed and if there was anything disqualifying in there, it would be known long before they voted on him. I am 99.9% sure none of the documents they would choose to release would be disqualifying though.
At least the dude doesn’t appear to be the type of scumbag Donald has been keeping around the administration. The nomination will go through based on numbers so why should the Republicans want to play dirty tricks? Makes no sense.

I think you have it backwards... The ACA was in fact "jammed down our throats," was it not? So why is there such a loose standard for the ACA and filling executive judicial vacancies established by Harry Reid and Barack Obama (Obama-Era Rule Changes Haunts Senate Democrats - The Atlantic), only 51 votes in the Senate for judicial vacancies and cabinet appointments... but when it's Trump's nominee... the sky is falling... The Democrats made their bed... now they have to sleep in it...
I guess it might trouble me if I knew what the documents were and why they were delayed. The number isn't that troubling because the guy has a far larger government paper trail than most previous nominees.
