politicalization of the SC is discouraging.

“Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh went to a holiday party at the home of Matt Schlapp — the chairman of the influential right-wing group Conservative Political Action Coalition — Friday night

Among other attendees at the Christmas party included Stephen Miller, a longtime ally to former President Donald Trump, Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida, Trump's former White House press secretary Sean Spicer, and Rep.-elect George Santos of New York

    …..also……
“Christian evangelical minister Rev. Robert Schenck a former anti-abortion activist, told congressional lawmakers that he had been involved in a decades-long effort to try and influence the thinking of some of the conservative Supreme Court justices.”

Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh went to CPAC boss Matt Schlapp's holiday party, which Trump ally Stephen Miller and Rep. Matt Gaetz also attended: report

Of course, SC must disown all friends and former colleagues once installed as justices.

They must live in a bubble and not speak, listen nor interact with anyone. This makes perfect sense.

So...a sitting justice is associating with a pedofile and blatant liar who invented his entire history to win an election. Great company.

You are judged by the company you keep. And I seriously doubt that Haetz and Santos are old friends of Kavanaugh any more that Kanye and Trump are old friends. The Supremes want respect and deference as a non partisan institution. Associating with extremes of either side has always been a non starter, until recently.

If I go to a party that I am responsible for knowing everyone who will be in attendance as rendering judgement on every one of them? I had no idea the responsibility a party invitation entails.

You’d know the host and have an idea about who might attend based on that host.

If I rolled in a similar friends group to Matt Gaetz I'd reevaluate my fiends group

A Nazi (Miller), a dummy (Spicer), a liar (Santos) and 2 sex offenders (Kavanaugh and Gaetz) all at the same party. Must have been a wild party.

I nominate this post for stupidest of the day. No reflection on the poster, who I am sure is a bright person.

Isn't that exactly what DT said after his ML feast with Kanye and the gang?

These are invitation only events. You know in advance who is on the list. This isnt a byob block party

But what doesn't make sense is how a reasonably intelligent person - which I assume you are - can completely miss the concern raised by the OP. Is there any suggestion at all that a Supreme Court Justice "must live in a bubble and not speak, listen nor interact with anyone." Unfortunately, as is often the case with extremists, your ideology doesn't allow you to be balanced in considering whether a Justice has avoided the appearance of impropriety.

Thank you. The overt ridiculousness of my post mirrors the stretch of a post title that infers a Supreme Court justice and Gaetz were there together (as in a date or two couples together).

By inference, anyone who attended an FTX holiday party is likely the spawn of Bernie Madoff and Satan. Got it. Someone hates Republicans- shocking I dare say, just shocking.

I'm not surprised a bunch of Republican politicians attended a party together. Yes, I am saying Kavanaugh is a Republican politician.

I think it's great the neo fascists pubs love to hang out with rapists and pedophiles at a Christmas party. But where was Desantanist and his Voodoo witch doctor? Too busy flying to Marthas Vinvard i guess....
