To be clear she is a two time GOP candidate for congress having won two recent primaries and was at the GOP convention.
So what? Still an Elaine unknown to he vast majority of conservatives. I have no issue with someone blasting her for this insane and immature attack on Harris. But to some on this board paint with a VERY broad brush and want contribute her words and attacks to the whole party. You know as well as I how many on here would call that if it was reversed. No mistake, both sides do this on this board and we can all point out the worst offenders but why are yall defending it?
Unknown recently met with Trump and back in 2023 he wanted to hire her. Trump Wanted to Hire Laura Loomer, Anti-Muslim Activist (Published 2023)
Well done city You used google. How many actual people would know who she is? Is she as well known as anyone on the squad? As well known as the terrorist supporting Omar? As well known as Johnson who was afraid Guam might tip? Do all dems espouse the same ideas and thoughts as those two? As AOC? Does Gilliam represent the values and culture for all Dems? Is this how it works? Household name? I mean go ahead… keep on this path and earn few points for your team. Yeah team! I didn’t support her tweet, other right leaning posters on this board don’t support her tweet. And I do but if you asked a 100 people on the street if they knew who she was you’d get more than 10 to say yes.
I consider her "well known". Her legal fights with social media and anti-vax conspiracies have made headlines for years. Her opinions do not necessarily reflect others' opinions in her group. That is a hasty generalization. Happens here all the time.
I am just saying she's not some rando on twitter like you suggested. She won two GOP primaries and was at the GOP convention two weeks ago, has met with Trump who wanted to offer her a job. She is a weirdo but she isnt unknown. That is a far cry from me suggesting that she is writing the GOP platform. She didnt. That was written by other wackos called Project 2025.
As with pretty much everyone, it's not fair to say that Loomer speaks for everyone on the right. But she's pretty well known and, for example, has been mentioned dozens of times here on Too Hot. She's also not alone. We've had multiple people here back Trump's questioning of Harris' racial identity. Some keep claiming that her identity used to be Indian, but I think they've ignored all requests for some evidence. Meanwhile, in the rightwing media: Jesse Watters praises Donald Trump for taking on “issues” like Kamala Harris' heritage Watters: “Trump told Kamala, 'you ain't Black'” https://www.mediamatters.org/fox-ne...-trump-taking-issues-kamala-harris-heritage-0 Trump attacked Kamala Harris’ ethnicity while at a conference for Black journalists. Right-wing media have spent years doing the same. https://www.mediamatters.org/donald...while-conference-black-journalists-right-wing
Right wing media runs cover for or outright gives airtime to their loons. So it’s no wonder you know much more about “the squad” than people like Loomer. Kind of funny you tried to equivocate with Hank Johnson, you think he would pass your same “random people on the street” test? Other than perhaps AOC, I doubt the squad would pass the name recognition test either. Most people don’t follow that closely or have a clue at all. That is true enough. But a person who follows closely enough to reach into the bag for a Hank Johnson quote should have probably heard of a Laura Loomer imo. She’s not a “household name” but certainly a “those who follow politics should know” name, unless of course one only follows a certain brand of political reporting. Honestly the only difference between her and someone like MTG is that she runs in bluer districts and hasn’t (yet) got over the hurdle of winning an election. But she very much occupies that same (extreme Trumpist) space. These people bother me much more than the squad as it’s much more nihilistic, at least you can understand the motives of Omar and Tlaib (who is Palestinian).
Anyone else notice that Trump has two distinctly different pronunciations for the word black. At the beginning of his interview, it's normal. Later in the interview, when discussing Kamala's racial identification, he pronounces it like he's South African - "bleck". "So I don't know, is she Indian or is she bleck?"
If only there was a history of our country for what is consider black? Like, what if there was a “one-drop” rule. That would really put this to rest. Mixed Race America - Who Is Black? One Nation's Definition | Jefferson's Blood | FRONTLINE | PBS
