With a higher reward. Things happen to players and I am sure that Mullen will fully vet his situation.

Having a set with him Pitts and Grimes at the same time along with zip at TE would be a monster group.

I assume he will have to sit for a year, so that won’t happen.

Agreed, which would be better anyway since he would have a year with the team, Savage and the Gator standard. That fresh start may be just what he needs.

I just assumed he was eligible like Grimes was. My mistake

Well, he might be. It's hard to understand why the NCAA grants waivers in some cases and not others. I'm sure he will apply for a waiver if he transfers, so depending on his reasons, he might be eligible immediately.

Seems like a coin flip in most cases.

Penn State worked with Shorter during the offseason to keep his weight down. The receiver was listed at 235 pounds, but last spring Franklin said Shorter was “a cheeseburger away from 250." Hmmmm

Hey, those long and cold winters in PA keep people eating burgers and going bowling. Not conducive to keeping the weight down. Get him to Gainesville where he can run outside every day of the year, svelte 210. Lol

Pitts, Grimes, Zipperer and Copeland or Toney is already a monster group. I'm hoping J. Weston progresses to where he'll be a factor in our offense too. For that matter, Wells, Whittemore and Marks too. ;) Would like to see transfer like Shorter or T. Black also.

I commented at the time in the HBO 247 thread that yes, they did hire Joe Schmo as their s&C coach.

I don't know if I would call it a higher reward. He is coming off an injury and was replaced by a former walk-on. I feel like his 5 star tag is a thing of the past but I fully agree that Mullen will make the right assessment if he gets him on campus.

He didn't do much up there, no idea if he isn't as talented as his ranking suggested or he is, to put it kindly, a bit on the lazy indulgent side.

Well Grimes only had 2 catches or so his first year at Ohio state so I wouldn’t judge based solely on prior production

Sounds like a kid that believed his own hype and forgot that hard work is what separates the men from the boys. If the talent was really ever there, rededicating himself could be all that’s needed. Being at the top of the food chain doesn’t come easy. Some kids believe the hype about themselves or have always just out talented others. You can’t do that at this level.

Do you bring him in for a workout? Dude could be cheeseburgering it up and resting on his laurels.
