Too young to remember Herschel Walker? Unfortunately, I'm not.
Well im saying i never got to see him live so I didn't have to live through his domination of us lol
The top 4 on that list hurt the most (Phillips too but that was a team crapfest) but Alexander and Stephens cost us games we had no business losing as well as championships. Awful
Herschel was a beast against us in the 44-0 route. He was running across the goal line with multiple gators on his back like they were children.
Jezuz...any other memories from other RB in a single game performance you remember where our D was helpless?
Nothing really comes to mind for me except Fournette and second-half Cook, but, those were recent. We handled Bo Jackson well back in the day.
Alexander was brutal in sec championship
I just turned 37 so I first really started being a FANatic about Gator football around '92 SEC championship game season vs. BAMA, THE Shane Mathews, Chris doerings, eric Rhett, etc. That season stands out in my memory the most even though it's the 1st real season because my dad and his whole side of the family are from just outside Birmingham, Al so he's a diehard Tide fan. Hes also military and we bet 20 pushups on the SECCG. Of course we all know how went...... with an almost 9 year old boy doing push ups lmao.
In regards to a game we just couldn't get off the field, I remember it was against les miles and LSU and they had that white guy fullback/RB. I cant remember his name but they just kept giving him the ball on 4th down and we couldn't stop him.
Jacob damn Hester lol. I swear it gave me second hand embarrassment watching that lol
I’m sixty five and started watching the Gators at age ten
Seen a few things
Well you're the perfect one to ask....how great was Wilbur at UF. My father passed away in 2000 when i was 13 and it was after the Alex Brown game in 99 when he sacked UT 600 times and everyone was saying it was the single greatest Gator defensive game they've seen and he was like "you never heard of Wilbur Marshall huh" and chuckled. He use to RAAAAAVE about him
Derrick Henry in that 2015 SEC championship game also comes to mind.
I forgot about Travis Henry in 2000
Wilbur Marshall VS. USC(west) in 1982 was a sight to see. One of the most incredible performances I’ve ever watched. He was good, real good.
Wilbur was recruited as a tight end believe it or not.
Yes Bobby, your dad was right, he was awesome and not just against USC
Always considerd the USC game the Gator “coming out” party.
Herschel Walker was the best college back UF ever faced.
I’m older that most of your fathers and had seats for the USC game. Most of the 14 tackles Marshall made were from the backside and John Robinson said it wasn’t possible for that LB to make the tackle behind the LOS. I knew a couple guys that played with WM at Titusville Astronaut and they said he was cat-quick and could dunk a basketball standing flat-footed. He was a HS AA tight end and I believe wasn’t moved to OLB until his sophomore year at Florida.
I turn 40 tomorrow. The most incredible, dominant performance on either side of the field I saw in person was Alex Brown single-handedly destroy Tennessee. Uh-MAZING. The stadium was rocking!!
I saw Tebow in person at the brave heart game in tally. I loved how they trashed their own stadium after we ran them out of there. Man was I soaked. Made for a long 6 hr ride home
