I do NOT like that direct pay (to play) model that this judge and the NCAA is moving towards... That is NOT what student athletes should be. The SCOTUS ruled they can make money on NIL... they did NOT however say these student athletes can essentially become paid employees of these schools. Looks like a district judge might want to keep the college football roster limits in place and have the limit gradually reduced instead of going straight to the 105 current limit that the NCAA has imposed on college football teams. Judge Threatens House Settlement Over Roster Limit Concerns Here below are the proposed and current limit on all college sports. https://www.ncsasports.org/blog/ncaa-scholarship-roster-limits-2024
This looks like college football team players limit of 105 is off for now. Now... I guess the old limit is still the legal limit until this gets sorted out between the House and the Federal judge.
Yes, but the total players on your team is NOT limited to only 105 players (non-scholarship/scholarship) until this is settled. I forgot what the only limit was... 120? Are these new total limits on player scholarships only, or total players on a team? And are non scholarship players still allowed to be on football teams?
