I think a lot of kids thought last season might be a fluke. I think this season proved that Mullen is for real and now they're taking notice.
So by curiosity, how is it that he'll be allowed to practice with the team before he's actually enrolled or in classes? I would have thought EEs couldn't practice until Spring.
Absolutely! If he can keep pulling the types of players he wants, this train will keep rolling and building speed. I like what he’s shown in the first two years in recruiting and on the field. We are in good hands!
It could be that they haven't pushed kids to commit or offer them expensive trucks with off road packages as well...either way sometimes it just requires good product on the field, coaching and opportunity (coaching changes). Hopefully it starts the flood to finish strong.
I love that CDM saw a chink in the armor and struck quickly. A thing of beauty to steal from the rivals!
This might be new for players that graduate in December and sign early. I've never heard of it before this year, too.
To All Of My Gator Brethren...
THIS is where it all starts and ends!
Picking up Braun was a masterful stroke!
A good offensive line will make any 3 to 5 Star running back look good.
An average offensive line will make the best 4-Star junior or senior look... average. "Cough, cough"
A good offensive line will make any passing quarterback look good.
A good offensive line will make ANY coach look grand!
Folks... we are catching up quickly with the Jawja's, Bammy's and Climpsen's of the world.
A nice Ford it is!!!!!!
think can attend, not practice.
They can practice. That's how Stingley got his feet wet last year and was the best DB for LSU during bowl practice last year by all accounts.
You can practice with the team but it would make you ineligible to play in any high school All American game
I found this USA article from 2017. It must not be new that EEs can practice immediately.
Great pick up!!!!
Not just for his athleticsm but he's an intelligent humble young man.
While GAs average is indeed one of the highest, there is no denying that we are getting closer and filling our needs with quality recruits (many blue chippers) which is sometimes more important than stockpiling stars (ask FSU about that one)
Also, keep in mind our overall average is slightly weighted DOWN due to averaging a 1-2 star punter in the mix. I didn't do the math, but I believe we're being "penalised" in the numbers for having a kicker as a recruit
Is Braun eligible to play... not that our coaches would let him. Just curious.
You’re spot on here. CWT at F$U recruited for stars and not necessarily needs, hence the QB depth issue they have now. Carrying kickers as recruits will always hurt the average. I’m not going to do the math either. I’m anxious to see how well we can close this recruiting season. Some naysayers may be very disappointed!
No, he can't play. Tua and Saban were the first to do this I believe. It's a little loop hole that is now being exploited but I think is is reserved to EE's. o this point I think it's just AR and Braun. (the Monster amomg men) who are going to practice with the team.
Think Leatherwood did it too (which would have been the same class as Tua)
Probably more appropriate to measure our top 14 vs theirs to see the true difference. Adding more players is going to bring the avg down. If UGA was signing more it’s not definitive they would maintain that avg. Mullen has proven to be a solid evaluator of talent from his time at MSU and here. You bring up a solid point but it needs some additional perspective.
Let's just see when signing day is over and two years later after our next NC with these guys.
