Yep, but as mentioned they don't look at everything, just the negative stuff by a few that stands out. It's mostly the uninformed negative and hormonal ones that end up commenting everywhere, and since few keep up with recruiting as is, others assume they're right and it spreads a little. The more levelheaded and informed don't have the time or desire to get in public discussions to refute or calm strangers. If they think we have bad fans they must have never listened to Paul Finebaum's show and all those bama, allbarn, utooth, uga, etc, fans.
Yep but just like doering its easier to claim gator fans are worse than others. It's low hanging fruit from doering. If he's so concerned with supposed negativity why shine a light on a minority of fans some of who are likely trolls? He does it because it sells and likely riles up the base which gives him even more attention.
I'm all for unbiased reporting, but, I'm disappointed with Doering on this one. The friendly fire was unnecessary. And, who is he talking about anyway? Boosters who put up millions and have a right to complain about the product? Online posters who never even go to games? Trolls? Just, bad form from someone who has always been well-supported by Gator fans.
I hate to say it, but complaining the past few years FINALLY got (some) stuff done. UF fanbase has had a lot to complain about since the end of the 2020 football season and a big part of the fanbase made it known. Spurrier era set a standard and every coach who has followed said they wanted to match/exceed that standard so don't fault the fans who hold the product accountable when that standard isn't met.
I agree to the point that you can't just sit by and blindly accept mediocrity. But, if you let it get to you to the point that you become a miserable wretch (like the guy that sat in front of me all last year), you should just pick another hobby. But, in this case, Doering is not criticizing the staff, he is addressing the fans. I'm a big Doering fan, but, he should be careful not to bite the hand that feeds him and lump us all into the whiner category.
Yea, I agree. There's being excessive and there's being disappointed and critical. We all know the difference between the two.
Or if he’s a rude guy like one of our posters suggested, he may have heard more direct negativity from fans than your average guy.
Regardless, if I had that platform I would never paint florida in a negative light. Constructive criticism as a journalist sure but to act like florida fans are worse than other bases does nothing but damage. On the bright side, his sisters were nice and easy on the eyes when I worked with them at a restaurant while in college lol.
One thing you can say about PD is that he's nothing if not consistent. Once he climbs up on a hobby horse, he'll ride it pretty much forever.
