It’s a good school. Great engineering school. And the student body is generally good people. The nature of things going on with their football program really seems out of character for that school. Can’t pull for Jimbo anywhere

 

This is the safe bet for sure. But morale is critical, and I question theirs right now. I would not be surprised if they were on either extreme: total turnaround or another bad season.

As such, I think this commit might be up for grabs in December.

 

Agree. If I’m not mistaken the over/under for their season was 6.5 wins. Which I would take the over …all day long. They are being grossly undervalued this season IMO. I think they challenge for #2 in the west.

If they signed because of nil, it’s always up for grabs.

 

I think that’s been the thought for the last few seasons. Maybe they finally get it together. Starting to look like Tennessee with their preseason hype.

 

I don’t blame them for buying classes. That’s pretty much the unwritten rule.

 

That’s just it. There is no hype this season.

 

They don’t have the Heisman quarterback or anything but they should have plenty of talent.

 

I agree. Full disclose - FOUR of my kids currently attend there for undergrad. Two of them are in the engineering school, which is top 20 nationally in most majors. Great culture at that school, but man I dislike Jimbo. It's hard to root for them as my #2 team because of him.

 

Yes. Full disclosure: I went to Texas A&M for grad school and got a MS in Mechanical Engineering there. More full disclosure: if I was a kid in a Texas high school choosing between Austin or College Station, it would be a no-brainer. A&M is a great school and arguably better than UT in Engineering, but man….

 

Yea Weigman finished his true freshmen year last year 8 td's to no int's. He was one of the A&M kids that didn't play against UF last year when they had that flu outbreak

 

He could be really good. They have no excuses for not winning 10 games. They’ve recruited well and had the time.

 

Very cool. If you're ever in the area, you need to check out the new engineering facility (Zachary). It's incredible.

I'm down here right now because TWO of my four Aggies are graduating this weekend.

 

My office as a grad student was in Zachry hall. Maybe my torsional vibration test rig is still down in the Mechanical Engineering lab. Designed and built that for my masters thesis

 

I’ve got an Aggie grad. Definitely different for a Florida boy.
