FSU football recruiting: Blue-chip safety Jordan Pride decommits - Tomahawk Nation Reportedly visiting UF tomorrow.
Here's a clip from the paid side of On3. Was gonna post the link but not sure if allowed. On3 just put in a prediction to UF with Confidence level of 75. “First off I want to thank Coach Norvell, the whole Florida State staff for giving me the opportunity, and showing so much love. It was a hard choice but with that being said, I will be reopening my recruitment,” Pride told On3. Now, I have submitted an On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine pick. It’s for the University of Florida and my confidence level for the pick is at 75 percent. I connected with multiple sources this evening who told me Pride remains very much wanted in Gainesville. He is attending tomorrow’s Orange and Blue Game as well, so the timing could not be better for the Gators. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, Pride is the No. 8 safety and No. 103 prospect overall. Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Auburn and Texas A&M are some additional schools that previously offered"
Not sure. Florida also supposedly also leads for Zavier Mincey. Maybe we are telling them to jump on to whomever joins first.
Mincey - CB'd to UF Pride- CB'd to UF Filsaime - CB'd to UF Josiah Davis - commitment Jarvis Boatwright - CB'd to UF Isisah Thomas Maybe 1-2 of those are pegged as a nickel?
yeah, listening to the locked on gators podcast today, it sounded like Filsaime is a guy who can play anywhere in the secondary, but safety may be his most natural spot. I assume they’ll look at him in a few areas
Per 247: "A bigger framed safety prospect with a multi-sport background that has impacted the game in all three phases on Friday nights. Excels at flowing downhill towards the line of scrimmage and meeting ball carries either in the hole or in the open field. Started prep career off at Blountstown where he faced a lower level of competition. Spent a few months at IMG Academy and got varsity snaps with the Ascenders before electing to return back home. While at the national powerhouse flashed plenty of range on the backend and was able to use his longer reach to eliminate throwing windows. Quick to read and diagnose. Understands how to play angles and has the footspeed to close most gaps. Face-up tackler that can wrangle larger players to the ground. Should only get more effective in the box once lifting in a college weight room. Has the makeup of a potential ace on special teams given how he runs and sifts through traffic. Overall, should be viewed as a future impact player in the back seven for a Power Five program given what he has put on tape. Will need to keep progressing, but size and athletic markers (state placer in both the 100 and high jump as a sophomore) are very encouraging. Could thrive in a single-high look at the next level where he can roam over the top." They also have at 100% CB to UF. Also, they compare him to Trey Dean (WTF!!) At least he should get flagged for targeting with his face-up technique.
Could be 4 safeties in the class - seems like a lot but some may end up being nickels or corners I guess.
His state qualifying 100 time suggests they are not a perfect match. 5 DBs on field, Star position is tough to fit just right, some can play corner where Raymond likes em tall and physical. Sign em all if you can and don’t forget teammate McCray while you’re at it.
yea Pride is coming off one from last season which doesn't bother me cause we can consider him a "buy low" option to be honest. After only bringing in 2 safeties last cycle (3 if Dijon plays safety which idk at the moment), I can see us going for a few more this cycle. Regardless, I trust Raymond
Didn’t realize he was from Blountstown. He’s the first from BHS since Fernando Jackson and Curt Garret. FWIW, my mom graduated from BHS in 1948. Fernando’s grandmother was my grandmother’s housekeeper.
