"Nevada freshman forward Jordan Brown, a former McDonald's All-American, entered his name into the transfer portal on Thursday afternoon, sources told ESPN.

"Jordan Brown, a 6-foot-10 power forward, was ranked No. 33 in the ESPN 100 for the 2018 class. Arizona and California were also involved down the stretch for Brown, although UCLA and Stanford also recruited him heavily."

Sources: Nevada's Brown enters transfer portal

Apparently, he didn't get many minutes due to Nevada's senior-laden team, so his numbers are 3.0 points and 2.1 rebounds. He would be eligible immediately and would have 3 more years.

Is it a given that he would be eligible immediately?

I think anytime there is a coaching change, they player is free to go to wherever they choose and be available immediately.

the core players and coach will all be gone. Guess he got used to winning and might not be up to a total rebuild, even if he is one of the top returnees

That's where it seems to be headed but I don't think it's a given yet.

Now if he combined that with something ridiculous like he finds the Nevada lifestyle morally offensive and therefore in the best interest of the student athlete to transfer, he probably would be cleared :)

If that midget qb who transferred from Ohio state to Miami can get approval to play then anyone can.
