This is a kid was am just as excited about as Steele and Elam... I love his cover and ball skills from his film... I forgot that he is recovering from a Torn ACL... do we know when he will be back?between Coach Gray, CJ, and Marco giving him their tutelage I can see him being a force...

He kind of reminds me of Asante Samuel

Agree about his skills...but given the injury seems like a good redshirt option. Have to assume Steele and Elam both play as freshmen

Only 160 pounds. Lightest incoming recruit. 12 month minimum recovery time. Most likely to see field in 1-4 games late in season to preserve his redshirt year. Most positive aspect is that he is an early enrollee, so trainers can help in his rehab efforts. A number of our recruits did not play during senior year due to injury, including our top OT and only DT signees.

I remember reading a tweet by deion about Hill last year. deion said that Hill was one of the best corners in the country! Even though deion is a DB (and I don’t mean defensive back) nole, he does probably know a little something about playing DB.

Oh yeah I keep forgetting about him... I love his physical style too... out of the all the CB's we got this year I still see Steele as more of a safety... I think he would be good at corner but he strikes me more of a safety that can cover receivers

Jaydon will almost assuredly RS. There is no reason to rush him until he is ready.

Makes me feel we recruited one fewer DBs in the class. Too pessimistic?

No big deal, with Steele and Elam and Kimbrough we need a redshirt or two

I'm one of those that think you need four or five every class or lack depth and only a couple of injuries this season made us feel short. That said, staff can show a favorable depth chart to some really talented players this cycle.

We lose 1 DB this year and picked up 4. Not sure how we can say we came up short? Though I can think of 2 that would be transfer candidates.

We started a true frosh because of lack of depth and probably lose two after this season

Meaning you have to count future losses and not just past events

In a year those four will be sophomores with playing time instead of on the job training

With only a junior ahead of them

    Gotta keep reloading at DBU

Looking at a couple rivals I see they have recruited fewer DBs than us.

Wilson, Hendo, Steele and Elam all would most likely be ahead of him anyway. Will need him the year after, but he will be healed by then.

Even though they would be ahead of him the game reps would be crucial especially with us probably losing Henderson and Wilson next year.

Agreed, would be nice in a perfect world. Kimbrough will get some reps instead and we will work Hill in the year after as CB 3 or 4. We've started freshman at CB many times at CB 1 or 2 with success, color me unconcerned in the least with Hill as a RS freshman backup.

I do NOT want a repeat of the UGA game where we were short on experienced DBs... ever again. We can never sign too many. But you are right in saying that we did NOT come up short on DBs this last signing period. But, again, more (quality players at DB) is better too. :D;)

We can definitely sign too many imo. Then they transfer or all leave in the same year and we are in the same spot again. Plus inexperienced is kinda the way the game has gone. Not many want to wait their turn, we need to make sure the inexperienced is talented though!

Best scenario is he heals up enough to play late in the year in the 4 games allowed to still redshirt. Gets fully healthy, gets a redshirt, gets some experience

    Through last three cycles:
    Bama signed 3, 4, 3
    georgia signed 4, 4, 3
    LSU signed 4, 1, 3
    UF signed 6, 2, 4

Those are just rough numbers from commit lists and don't include those signed as athletes that staffs plan to play at DB. So I stand corrected somewhat. On paper we have recruited reasonably well.
