Jay-Z, Cyrus top Woodstock 50 bill
More than 80 artists, including David Crosby, Janelle Monae, Brandi Carlile, Country Joe McDonald, Halsey and the Lumineers are expected to perform on three main stages at Watkins Glen International racetrack in the Finger Lakes for Woodstock 50. The original concert was held on a farm in Bethel, New York, that is now run as an attraction by The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. The venue plans its own anniversary event Aug. 16-18. More than 400,000 people attended the Woodstock Music and Arts Fair, which was held Aug. 15-17, 1969.

Dayum! Now I know I'm getting old!

I was at the original Woodstock.
There will be no other like it, sadly.

@anstro76 not surprised, hope you are well these days, when I saw the 'Headliners" my first thought was 'they must mean 'feaux Woodstock' but at least some of the vets are on the bill.....

Probably not, but I hear Joplin, Morrison and the Doors, and Kurt Cobain may make an appearance.

This is an amazing lineup. I’m glad to see them honor the 50th anniversary with so many quality bands. This isn’t supposed to be a comparison or even a recreation of Woodstock. It’s being held in a nascar stadium. Wish I could make it.

It's interesting, to say the least....

The only reason they got to use the name "Woodstock" in it is because the promoter of the original one is also promoting this one.
I also don't know how comfortablw it's gonna be sitting in the stands at Watkins Glen for that amount of time, as opposed to how we were able to "spread out" in our areas on Yasgur's Farm., and just stay there for the weekend.

Plus, the original site is going to have their own 50th Anniversary on the actual datess, (well, one day off), Aug. 16th - 18th

    Some of the performers there.....

    • Friday, August 16: Ringo Starr and his All Star Band will take the Pavilion Stage, along with Arlo Guthrie, who performed just after midnight on Friday, the first day of the festival; as well as Edgar Winter with The Edgar Winter Band, returning to Bethel for the first time since performing at the festival with his brother Johnny Winter.
    • Saturday, August 17: Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Woodstock legend, Santana returns to Bethel Woods Pavilion Stage, exactly 50 years after his groundbreaking Saturday afternoon festival performance. Santana will be joined by special guests The Doobie Brothers

Santana and the Doobie Brothers should be the best performers with Robert Plant a close third... I have to admit that this event will have a very big cross section of musical talent.

Not to mention that it's being held at the original Woodstock site, and on the true 50th anniversary.

Lots of great bands, but headliner for Woodstock and Miley Cyrus should never be in the same sentence, ever. Ever.
