We need not be so specific, but Taysom Hill and Trey Burton immediately come to mind. It’s irrelevant, though because a comparison is not a predictor of similar results.

I say “if” because we don’t know what will happen. I think that’s obvious.

Why is it concerning to anyone if there is a "media frenzy" about something like this?

Trey burton and Jordan Reed were both about 20 years old when they started playing TE.

Because it's a headache. It can lead to a divided locker room. It can create a narrative outside the locker room.

Are you saying your brain can’t switch from seeing a playbook from a QBs perspective to a TE perspective after 20 years old? I get it, Tebow may be 30 years old, he may not make the team, most people know this. If he does, good for him, if he doesn’t oh well he gave it a shot. Not sure how ANY gator fan can sit here and criticize him for trying it. I’m assuming everyone here is still in the first job they were in after high school/college based on what some say.

Maybe, but, I believe it would only be a headache to teams who let it be one. I also think all NFL locker rooms are divided, because everyone in them is competing against the others for multi-million dollar overpaid positions. I doubt he'll even make the team, but, I hope he does.

No, I'm not saying anything about the brain. I'm saying guys like burton&Reed started the transition in their first or second year of college. They had multiple years of practice playing the position.
No one is criticizing him that I can tell. But I don't think it's awful to be realistic about the situation.

I hear ya. Thanks for the clarification and glad you didn’t take it offensively! I could be wrong but I thought Reed did it more in the later of his college career though like JR/SR year. Doesn’t really matter though, I get your point regardless. I’m still gonna cheer him on and be ok if he doesn’t make it. Can still be pro Tebow and be realistic right?!?!

Unlike college, their are only 53 slots in the pros. I think there are like 90 guys in camp now, so, he has a long way to go through a bunch of rounds of cuts. Maybe Jax's lack of good TEs on the roster will help him overcome that. We'll see. I'm rooting for him regardless.

I sort of root for the Jags (dad lives in Jax) and what I am most worried is that Tim makes it into a game (probably signed off their practice squad) and then he gets cut afterwards and that is a career.

My worries? The teams who cut him somehow get "tribulated":eek::eek:

If Tim divides a locker room then you know which guys you need to show the door....the guy makes a team better period.

Jags are a business and the signing of Tebow to a contract has already paid off in jersey sales, ticket sales, and publicity for the team. Imagine the excitement when the Jags are 1st and goal from the three yard line and Tebow comes in...the crowd and tv audience will be ready to explode. It would make for great entertainment and we should all be hopeful it will happen.

That's true. As I recall Pouncy was a work in progress with his snaps.

Pouncey was spraying balls all over the place when he first started snapping, usually five feet over the QB's head. Gave Qbs great preparation for outfield careers.

Is it Quinton Dunbar that switched from WR and is a pretty decent DB in the NFL?
