Maybe I’m wrong but a TE usually is not left on his own to block a DE, typically they are there to assist the OT. Especially in today’s game plan for TE. Usually they just knock the DE off their straight path to the QB and run a route.

I agree on this but a major factor is left out on it. Specifically with Kap. 1. He didn’t think he was backup material. 2. He thought he was worth more than what teams would be willing to pay as a backup or 3rd string. Josh Gordon says Hi to that. Kap had a chance leaving the 49ers, a team offered him in FA and turned it down. Then he went on his crusade. Then he was given another chance and he....HE changed the location last minute to where teams couldn’t visit and then cried about not having another chance. To me, he doesn’t want to play in the NFL, he just wants to say he does and continue this narrative.

But, it isn't. Sports is entertainment... nothing more and nothing less. If it entertains people to watch Tim Tebow play, then so be it. I'm wishing him well, and, not betting against him.

This is hilarious, I cracked up over some of the stuff Skip Bayless was saying. Skip and Michael Young are Tebow supporters:

Been thinking about Tebow's signing: bunches of pundits are flipping out because he got signed as a TE. They are so shortsighted! I think Tebow will be used in so many different ways but ultimately I am seeing this as the birth of his coaching career. He's going to be on the bench a lot and sitting next to Urban. Tebow will help motivate and coach the team as he builds relationships with all the players and they will not be able to stop themselves from looking up to him.

He'd definitely be a great coach, mentor, and motivator. He'd even be a great strength and conditioning coach. But, Dan Mullen says he doesn't think Tebow would ever eliminate the humanitarian facets of his life to make room for the rigors of a full-time coaching job. I tend to agree with that notion.

Probably true, I was thinking position coach or strength and conditioning. Definitely not a head coach or coordinator.

    Gentlemen,

Let's call it what it is with respect to both Tebow and Kap. They both were blackballed.

Kap talk is revisionist history. He had a player option for another year with the 49ers and opted out of his contract. Kap then rejected at least one offer, as he thought it was too low or perhaps he wanted a starting role guaranteed. Either his agent or he overestimated his worth. No coach wants a social media distraction, good or bad, on their roster. One of the reasons Tebow was not picked up as a backup QB was the circus that followed him. You don’t want a backup QB that the media circus followed. The starter does not want that. The coach does not want those questions. Look at the coverage now after all these years. Tebow had a top selling jersey with Broncos and Jets.

Someday the entire collection of Tebow jerseys
    will be worth $_________!

I have no idea, but it's an intriguing thought.

The 49ers were going to cut him even if opted in.
