Vandy already has a prolific kicker
well at least someone appears to understand my comment
Still surprised McPherson left.
Wonder what the teamwide average is for a player making it through his senior year without leaving the team for transfer, early pro exit, academic or disciplinary flamout, injury, or some other reason? Maybe seven out of ten players give us four playing seasons?
He will just need to kick extra points
yes, that is odd.
Well, your comment came off as ignorant bellyaching and entitled. Then you played the victim card after getting called on it, which is awful... So, there was that.
I'll help you here... I'm typing this slow to help you understand. College kids tend to improve as they get older and coaches help with that (player development)... So, when the coaches s see a kicker going into his Sr. season that was 4-5 on kicks over 40+ yard, including going 1-1 on kicks over 50 yards, his Jr. season, they probably think they have something to work with.
I am NOT SURE why everyone is ripping him for pointing out a very true stat that I thought the same.
If you have to get to the 23 yard line to get in the 62% makable range (granted which is the least to get to 40), you need to get to the 30 for 47 and 32 for 49.
10 of 16 is 62.5%.
That’s not a yellow mark I want to see for FG is on the 25 yard line. I want to see it on the 35. Maybe he will be coached up and maybe he kicks better from far as he does have a 51 harder but I’d like the majority of our 40-48 FGs made and a large majority, not a 60% one.
That said, I am glad he’s here and stoked to be a Gator!
Maybe McPherson leaving caught them off guard?
I assume they think he’s at least as good as our other backup kickers. He’s got experience at this level, and if they didn’t have a top 10 kicker already recruited its probably too late to have one fall into their lap. This just puts a capable kicker in the fold.
Anything that keeps dentists out of the IPF is fine with me. Welcome aboard kid!
Big surprise. Good kicker but missed 2-3 big kicks. Several on here say he missed one big kick, I disagree as 5 misses is a huge surprise. For those that continually say he was great, his 17-22 77% average was good for 45th in the country.
Welcome aboard new Gator!!
