Besides what @uftaipan just stated, perjury is extremely tough to prove because prosecutors have to prove the accused had to know he was lying. The phrase “I don’t recall” or “I cannot remember” is often used in perjury cases for a reason.

Legal scholars, expect for those on the very far left, have chimed in that trying to convict Kavanaugh of perjury would be a waste of time.

There was nothing to investigate because no credible information was provided to the FBI of the accusation made by Dr. Ford. No time or place, no year, no witnesses named stated they never attended a party like Dr. Ford described. So what are they supposed to investigate?

It's all water under the bridge. Or in the case of Trump and his gang, more water in the swamp. BTW with all the talk about Trump keeping his promise about building a wall, didn't he make some sort of promise to drain the swamp? How is that coming along? Ha ha ha ha. He's the head swamp critter.

There was a clear rush on the confirmation just as there was clear attempt to delay by the Dems. Recognizing one to the exclusion of the other is highly partisan and just not objective.

Kavanaugh lied over and over and over again.

This article is one among several that attempt to catalog his lies:
All The Lies Brett Kavanaugh Told | HuffPost

One obvious repeated lie is when he claimed that the testimony of others refuted her claims. The testimony did not corroborate but sure as hell didn't refute. As a long time lawyer and judge he gets paid to know the difference.

Devils Triangle was widely known at the time as two guys on one girl. Anything us possible as far as somebody making up a drinking game but that is not the simple answer. The same goes for his creative rendering of history wrt boofing and "Renate Alumnius". In addition to them being fairly obvious lies on their face, multiple classmates refuted (actual meaning of the word) his creative testimony.

The linked article spends too much time on his drinking problems IMO, but it is clear, that he regularly drank to excess including passing out or at least forgetting portions of events because they have an email where he apologizes for being a nasty drunk wrt some dice game, but he didn't remember doing it.

He also made up a BS story about being part of some "Ralph Club" because his stomach couldn't handle spicy food.

What we have here is a clear pattern of repeated lies to make himself look better than he was. Didn't mean he was guilty of the Blasey accusation, but it does make him a liar. Under oath. In a confirmation hearing to become USSC justice.

Probably the biggest problem is not just the dozens of lies he told in this hearing (counting repeated lies), but that his lying under oath in confirmation hearings started in his 2006 Appeals Court confirmation hearing, where he claimed that he first heard about the warrantless wiretap program (under GW) in the news, when in fact he was involved in multiple emails on the status of the program well before it hit the news.

So he is a serial liar in multiple confirmation hearings.

This serial liar got the USSC nomination for one reason. He had stated his opinion that a sitting president can't be indicted. Everything else was immaterial.

This almost certainly doesn't happen unless his staff don't believe him.

It is a very "ballsy" way of communicating a point. Perhaps somebody in the VA Dem party let them know they would be covered with other positions... or brought back after this guy resigns or gets run out.
