Its more likely that Bibi flees Israel and becomes Trump's new chief of staff.

There's been talk about Netanyahu corruption for years. What else is new?

And before anyone says otherwise, it was the Japs who bombed Pearl Harbor.

I'm sorry, but this still doesn't make sense. Israel's police, after investigating, have concluded that Netanyahu has committed a crime. Why is this a problem in your opinion?

"Israeli police recommend Bibi be indicted" - howdygator

Your words tell me that you stated something different. Police don't do that, the DOJ or their equivalent does that...

I’m pretty sure the normal procedure is for law enforcement to make recommendations to the prosecutors office. The DOJ (or whomever) would actually bring the charges. Seems like they have the same setup.

This case "only" involves allegations of $300,000 in bribes over 10 years. Police are still investigating what would likely be a much larger case involving graft in the $2 billion purchase of missile ships and submarines from a German shipbuilding company.

The outcome of that investigation, of course, is uncertain. As is whether the Attorney General, a one-time Netanyahu aide, will follow the police recommendation and indict the Prime Minister in the present case. As the NYT article points out, this is not the first time Netanyahu or his wife have faced recommended indictments for corruption - so far he's been Teflon.

I'm still hung up on this. You don't think that the FBI is supposed to talk to the DOJ regarding potential charges? This is the kind of thing that make me question the validity of all these conspiracy allegations. You have to at least know what the FBI is supposed to do before you claim that they are doing something illegal.

In our system, the prosecutors make the decisions about whether charges are appropriate based on evidence the FBI has helped collect. Although we don’t normally make public our recommendations to the prosecutors, we frequently make recommendations and engage in productive conversations with prosecutors about what resolution may be appropriate, given the evidence.
