    Agree...... that this US military action appears to be the best option at this point in time.

    Also agree that everything in the world isn't binary, or mutually exclusive to so many other things.

    Such as;
    - can deeply dislike Trump and approve of this action, based on public knowledge.
    - can be amused at how clearly Netanyahu played Trump/boxed him into a corner where this was his clear best choice
    - can find it laughable to see so many people who parroted the "Trump never started a war but Biden and Obama started tons of them" hogwash .... are now posting hero-memes of Trump as a tough guy.

    Edit; and supporting this does not also mean that Israel, as led by Netanyahu, didn't clearly commit war crimes in their actions in Gaza.

    And that ^ by the way, does not mean one doesn't "support" Israel. Everything's not binary or mutually exclusive, of course.

    If we thought Iran was a threat to US then this move would make more sense. Israel snaps their fingers and we always come running

    So, that's what a 30,000 lb bomb looks like.

    Well, let’s not get too stupid here. Several of those were specifically authorized by Congress pursuant to the War Powers Resolution. Even before the WPR, there was lots of precedent for authorizing war powers short of a declaration of war.

    Surprised that he said it was threat to Israel and didn’t specifically say it was a threat to the United States under AUFM.

    I'm not arguing your particular point. I think the precident is clearly that. But the Constitution is pretty clear on who gets to declare war.

    Pitch perfect. Straight up business, succinct, not flowery, didn't aspire to be some historic poetic eloquence...

    You like that flowery bullshit? POTUS trying to wax poetic from on high, striving to channel Wm. Shakespeare?

    @#$%& that.

    Give me Straight business all day long, all week long, n thrice on Sunday...

    Perhaps not. She would have been wise to wait for more information. It’s never been her strong suit. At the end of the day, she may be right. But pulling the trigger so quickly without any real information, if she is it will probably be by coincidence.

    “Declare,” yes. Article 2 grants the President wide authorities for military operations short of declared war, though. Arguably, that’s what this is. And don’t get me wrong. I would like the very next thing that happens is a Congressional vote on statutory authorities. Iran did not attack us. The President has to make an argument for a clear and present danger.
