Looks like some conservatives think that he is. I'm just going to sit back and watch you guys fight it out
I think it’s irrelevant whether DeSantis is personally a racist. He promotes racist, homophobia and xenophobic proclivities whenever and wherever he can. Thus, like Trump, regardless of whether he is personally a racist, homophobe or xenophobe, he is a hate-based candidate.
It is very relevant. True believers are much more dangerous than panderers. True believers think what they are doing is right. Way more dangerous. Both are horrible candidates.
Kind of the opposite hypothesis of the philosophical question, "If an evil man pretends to be good through actions and deeds, is he still an evil man?"
Remember when he was running for governor, DeSantis said that voters shouldn't "monkey it up" by voting for his black opponent? I'm sure he's saving something good for Tim Scott.
Looking at some news reports, the Latinos might be turning on Desantis. That immigration bill is going to hurt.
He’s had one of, if not the, most diverse administrations in terms of gubernatorial appointees in Florida history. So if so, he seems to have an odd way of showing it. (I’m probably missing some, but off the top of my head AHCA, Health, DCF, Lottery, DEP, and Volunteer Florida have all had Black agency heads under DeSantis, while if you loop in Hispanics that list grows substantially further)
He is an obvious racist. It doesn’t matter what is going on deep down inside his brain. The fact that critical race theory cannot be taught in the schools, the fact that diversity, equity and inclusion are being eliminated from our public universities, and the fact that black men and women are being arrested and charged with felonies for illegally voting when the State told them they could vote are racist, and DeSantis is the man behind these actions.
