I have my doubts of his ceiling but Joe Burrow was not Joe Burreux until his senior year.

Will Miles did a deep dive into the Lagway vs Nussmeier stats and decision-making during last year's win in the swamp. Long story short; Lagway made things happen in crunch time and Nuss did not. He also made a strong case for Nuss being significantly overrated by the national media by demonstrating how empty his stats were in regard to actual point production and game results. Frankly, I was a little surprised after looking at some key plays just how ineffective Nuss really was with spotting open receivers or "throwing them open" - which DJ does on a pretty regular basis. He also touched on how that failure led directly to an avalanche of sacks with the game on the line in the second half. It's definitely an interesting read.

Good college QB, but not an elite NFL Franchise QB type. I expect him to have a good year and LSU has some really good WRs this year too. Tough passing game that will be hard to deal with

The thing about Nussmeier is that like many QBs, he needs a great O-line in order to do well in the passing game. Take that way from him and he's just another SEC QB. However, that can be said about many QBs... the best ones find a way to get away from pressure and toss the ball on a dime, like Lagway did... especially illustrated in the LSU and FSU games.

LSU's QB1, that we played against in Gainesville last year. He's being hyped by all the sports news outlets as a Heisman frontrunner.

I'm frankly as concerned about Manning the 19th, the kid at TA&M and Austin Simmons/Lane Kiffin as I am about Nussmeier. Of course, that has almost as much to do with the coaching and OL situations at those programs as it does with the guys taking snaps. In the fullness of time, all will be revealed.

But you could see the talent, he just had to put it together. Nuss seams to be what he is to me. Decent decision maker but not elite playmaker,

Nuss may be good- but aren't they replacing 4 of 5 o linemen- that could equal alot of butt to grass
