Hopefully Iran makes a deal. Not sure if this will happen that soon but I do think Israel will bomb them to prevent it if Iran keeps forging ahead. Not sure if it will be easy with how some of their facilities are built though.

Why is any time a good time to throw a match into a powder keg?

IAEA found Iran in violation. That triggers snap back provisions to previous sanctions. Why not use those first? Not enough bloodshed?

Not the first time violations have been found. Iran will continue to do what they want to do. Now that their air defenses are greatly diminished, time to act

It is the first time IAEA has found them in violation of the agreement. their air defenses are easily defeated. Another made up reason.

I disagree with a lot Israel has done recently. But fully support them hitting Iran if they think Iran will have a bomb. The U.S. absolutely cannot allow Iran to possess nuclear capability. It’s existential.

How I see it also. I would rather that powder keg not get set off over there but I think just like when they took out Iraq's and Syria's nuclear stuff previously they can't let Iran get nukes considering whose is in charge in Iran.

Why does the United States get to decide what countries are allowed to develop technologies? Any country that is collectively stupid enough to elect a convicted felon to be President has no right to tell any other country anything.

As for Israel, BeBe is losing his grip on power and catching it from all sides now. He had to strike an 11th hour deal last night to keep the Ultra Orthodox parties from leaving the coalition government and voting to dissolve the Knesset. The tactic work and Netanyahu survived the vote, but he appears much more vulnerable today than just a few weeks ago. Polling in the country shows that the right-wing government would not retain the majority if elections were held.

The best thing that Israel could do for itself, and the entire world, would be to throw that criminal out of office once and for all.

to answer your first question - what gives us the right? Nothing but power. I’m not pretending it’s morally right, it’s just in our best interests not to let Iran have nukes. I feel like denying that is silly.

Depending how close they are I think Israel can't risk it with the religious leaders Iran has running the country. I think Iran getting nukes would be a much bigger threat to them than Iraq would have been with nukes when Hussein was running things there.

The answer to the OP is yes. Iran will ultimately leave them with no choice. It is only a matter of when at this point.

I hope that countries are prepared to posture to stop the escalation when it happens.

Yeah, we might have to do normal diplomacy with them instead of threatening to bomb them all the time, cant have that

Israel is also a danger to the region, seems like we could realize that now instead of when it gets to this point lol. We could get ahead of the game and impose actual conditions and strings to the aid we provide them. They even opposed the Obama-era nuclear deal ...

im not saying war first, but from irans perspective diplomacy allows them to stall for time. So as long as the diplomacy has specific, measurable, time bound goals that prevent Iran from having nukes I’m all for that. I just don’t think this admin is capable.

I mean ultimately would you rather have an Iran with some kind of nuclear device or go to war to prevent it. To me the choice seems pretty simple. There is nothing "existential" about it as you posted, especially from an American perspective. They arent going to have anything with the range to hurt us. Few countries do. Having nukes puts you in the big boy club, and they wont be able to be jerked around like countries that dont have those weapons. We are still the only country to use nukes on people, and we act like we are the responsible reasonable party lol.

Israel doesn't have the intelligence capabilities to guarantee a successful strike. An unsuccessful strike would be disastrous. A successful strike would make them an even bigger pariah. Netanyahu has made the entire world unsafe for Jews, especially in Europe. I was on pins and needles earlier this week when my daughter visited the Great Synagogue in Florence.
