It seems that there needs to be development payments made during a transfer to account for having to sit someone for a year or two.

Im not sure development is where its at. Let someone else spend a couple years on that and pay up for those guys as upperclassmen. Paying guys while they develop may become a thing of the past.

We were way too patient last time. If it looks like a duck, it's probably a duck. We have a much better staff and will show that on the fielf but we are short at tackle on both sides and it will show next year. Just my opinion which isnt worth much other tgan a discussion.

We were the right kind of patient IMO.

Our new guys hit the ground running but didn't expect them to be 100% yet on recruiting and portal but I'm enjoying the honeymoon.

    - Corey Bender's post highlights Florida Gators' recruiting push for 4-star wide receiver Ah'Mari Stevens, a Miami Hurricanes commit from Carol City High School, by leveraging new WR coach Marcus Davis's strong personal connection, rated "top two" by Stevens himself.

    - Davis, hired in January 2026 from Auburn, brings prior ties to South Florida prospects like Stevens, aiding head coach Jon Sumrall's efforts to rebuild the Gators' 2026 class amid in-state competition.

    - The linked On3 article details Stevens' 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame, his early commitment to Miami in June 2025, and Florida's intensified outreach post-Davis hire, positioning the Gators as a serious flip threat based on relational edges over other suitors.

    - Florida Gators extended a scholarship offer to 2027 four-star athlete Sherrod Gourdine, a 5-10, 177-pound Broward County standout ranked No. 20 in the state and No. 7 nationally at nickel.

    - Gourdine voiced enthusiasm for Gators defensive backs coach Brandon Harris, stating "That's the coach I want to be with," elevating Florida's status as a frontrunner in his recruitment.

    - With prior offers from Syracuse and Auburn, Gourdine's elite ball skills and versatility as a cornerback highlight Florida's aggressive in-state push for its 2027 class.

Those are all guys who thought Sale was still our OL coach. I will withhold judgment until we see what Trautwein can do on his own.

Sale could never get these type of OL on campus and interested in UF. All the buzz is due to our new OL coach Trautwein. More energy on recruiting trail from new OL coach in a month than Sale in entire year.

Doing some impressive window shopping. Im thinking paying those types much to sit on the bench isnt going to be feasible going forward without extremely deep pockets. Portal shopping for linemen is expensive too. Decisions decisions.

Several of those guys didn't have offers under the previous staff (?!) and almost none of them had shown any interest in us until Trautwein.
