John Calipari is great at getting players to NBA, but why can't they win at Kentucky?
I mean he has won 330 games, been to four final fours and won a title since he has been there. They've made the second weekend in the tournament all but twice since he has been there, six SEC reg season and six sec tourney titles. I don't really think you can do much better than he has at UK.
He is winning. Not saying you aren't saying that...but I think the headline of this article is bollocks.
In our Vandy game, ESPN showed a graphic with number of players currently on an NBA roster. UFL and LSU tied for second with 5. UK with....30.
I think the Knicks alone have 4 UK players. No wonder they're so shitty.
So...it is understood that Cals get them to the NBA and then they send him massive amounts of cash so the poor Kentucky faithful don't have to dole out the cash for his salary, correct?
1-6. Fell to 23rd in ranking.
Losing to MSU and just got ejected for yelling at the refs. Think Cal wanted to isolate after watching this team.
Cal just got ejected from the game. What a dope.
Does uk have to pay Cal for the 10min of the game he will miss?
In OT now. Playing better without him
The final possessions of OT for each team could not have been worse. Embarrassingly bad.
Miss St is horrible on clock management.
Interesting the 3 star boy from Kentucky saves the day while our two superstars one is injured and the other day the last 12 minutes and we won!
Amazing how you look when you have a shooter.
We always play better without Calipari.
He shouldn’t be paid all year. In face I believe coaches shouldnt be paid until the season is over.
Congrats on the win, Jeff. Second big win of the season!
Seriously - UK looks like a hot mess. They're typically athletic, but just can't shoot worth a shit. They found the one kid who hadn't scored all year and turns out he might be their best shooter. Anyway, I'm sure they will improve as time goes by, but this is not a very good team right now.
Why hasn't Cal played Allen more?
Good damn question that he can’t answer. He did say other players had to play and miss more before he could play him... something a long those lines. I tuned him out.
Under Calipari, I wish we got to play the Cats early in the season for at least one of our 2 regular season games with them.
I've never traditionally pulled against the Cats, but I do under under Cal, because I hate his model for running his program. That said, I think it's actually pretty impressive coaching by Cal to get a bunch of freshman phenoms to play as together and as hard as he typically gets them to do by the end of each season. I had predicted early on here that Cal would never win a national championship using such a model. But, then Anthony Davis came along...
We play them Saturday (in six days), right?
