Let's say you could choose two places to live during the year. What would they be? I admittedly haven't given it much thought, so I'd like to hear cool ideas from others. Just shooting from the hip, I'd say Colorado (somewhere near the mountains, but not in a major resort town) and on an island somewhere - maybe Turks and Caicos?

I would live right where I live in the winter and in the Mountains of western NC in the summer

    Montana is gorgeous for summer.
Something a bit warmer for winter.

I'd keep my current home and once I finish the back yard I may not need a second home in Australia.
Over 100 years ago John D Rockefeller commissioned a staff of experts to research the entire Western Hemisphere to find the best climate location to live. They came back with "Ormond Beach, Florida".

Whitefish looks like it must be beautiful. Do you spend time there?

Always head out for a western excursion in the September timeframe. Whitefish is awesome. 45 minutes to Glacier National Park and surrounded by National Forests. Great town and much more affordable than other western mountain towns (Jackson, vail, park city). Doesn’t get dark till 10:00pm in summer and fall. Sadly Californians are slowly Encroaching on the real estate as they have long been doing down in Bozeman.

That's the Palisade Head - looking north to Tettegouche. Really nice area.

It's truly a stunningly beautiful area, it just has one big 8 month long drawback for those of us who don't dig cold weather. :)

I remember a HS football game when it snowed all day and then the system moved out before the night kickoff and we had to play in the mud created by da snow doncha know. And we were the road team wearing all white uni's. Let's just say GK and his mom were not happy. And May is a long way away.

    Stay warm brother!!

The northern part of the county is extremely beautiful and the UP of Michigan is awesome but that area including Minnesota to Maine has some of the biggest mosquitoes you ever saw and I grew up in Alaska.

Assuming money isn't an issue I would probably pick northern California (Sierra Nevadas) and Maui for the winters.

I like low humidity and few mosquitoes. I can handle the rest.

I’m boring but I would say here in North Palm Beach and I would boat between our favorite islands in the Bahamas the rest of the year.

No I don’t like cold weather. At all. Anything below 75 degrees is uninhabitable :)
