Any police officer that transfers to ICE is a fool unless they just don’t like their particular agency.

You can be gone the next week without reason. Why would you give up that protection? Most officers in Florida are members of the PBA and work under and with negotiated benefits.

Trump isn’t going to be the president forever.

When it comes to the number of border guards, not really a partisan issue. Partisan issues are about what the guards "do".

The number didn't go up during Trump's first term, but Clinton more than doubled them.

Agree. I wonder if most of the LEOs applying are, as you say, unhappy with their current situations. Wonder how many are from localities where "defund the police" movements are active.

In the run-up to the election a plethora of polls showed Americans overwhelmingly alarmed by illegal immigration.

Question: did any of the polls distinguish between people entering the U.S. illegally and people who committed crimes after entering the U.S. illegally ?
