If I slipped into any country without documentation I would expect to be detained if caught.

We should send the Orange Skidmarks wife out of the country, she broke some legal immigrant rules.... Are we sure every soccer, basketball, hockey, etc player is here on the up and up.... I mean we need to lock this place down....

How about people who entered the country legally and overstayed their visas and/or entered under one type of visa and violated the terms of the visa like the woman from Slovenia who entered the US under a tourist visa, overstayed the visa and starting working as model without the correct visa or the guy from South Africa by way of Canada who entered legally under a student visa, dropped out of college and decided to stay.

Actually, it was documented. The documents were exhibits in unrelated court cases in New York. The fact is that her name appears on those documents when she still held a tourist visa as a person working jobs.

Lawyer for Melania Trump, Michael Wildes, contested the AP's report, stating that claims of her working illegally were "not supported by the record and are therefore completely without merit"

Th AP : The documents obtained by the AP show she was paid for 10 modeling assignments between Sept. 10 and Oct. 15, during a time when her visa allowed her generally to be in the U.S. and look for work but not perform paid work in the country. The documents examined by the AP indicate that the modeling assignments would have been outside the bounds of her visa.

Fox : WASHINGTON – Melania Trump was paid for 10 modeling jobs in the United States worth $20,056 that occurred in the seven weeks before she had legal permission to work in the country, according to detailed accounting ledgers, contracts and related documents from 20 years ago provided to The Associated Press.

Seems accounting ledgers, contracts and other related documents suggest that in fact it is documented.

Well...if her lawyer said so...and didn't elaborate or even directly address the issues or specific documents...

Why didn't she sue the AP. She successfully sued a blogger who criticized her (don't recall the exact issue). If it was "not supported by the record and are therefore completely without merit" a positive outcome of a defamation lawsuit would have been a slam dunk keeping in mind the AP has much deeper pockets than the blogger.
