Aubie not being in the east will always speak to this conference being a huge joke in doing whatever Alabama demands.

I remember (getting back to Aubren) always getting hosed with those guys. BUT...the one I will never forget (except the year) is when we went into their house and beat them when they had Bo Jackson and held Bo to like 38 yards or something. Now that was a lifetime ago but that, my friends, is a good memory.

    Go Gators...

2001 definitely would have been a win had Earnest Graham been healthy. It was no coincidence that our two losses that season were the 2 games he missed due to injury.

Also on Grossman's last int, his foot slipped on the throw. We had an open receiver possibly breaking open for a TD, but because he slipped, the pass was underthrown and got picked off.

The refs job us at the barn, constantly. I have no desire to play them every other year there. Seen too many bad calls, all of which go against us. No thanks.

Swapping them with Mizzou makes the most geographic sense, and the Bama game can either be legislated by the state (like our game against FSU) or they can be the common opponent that Auburn plays from the SEC West.

"The Third Saturday In October" is the lamest rivalry in college sports (possibly in American sports) and should be dissolved and disbanded. It hasn't been relevant for well over 30 years. Tennessee will have to find another annual SEC opponent that they may actually beat once a decade.

  9. If I am not mistaken, Auburn is the only SEC school (at the time) that Tim Tebow never beat.

Really? That's not how I remember it. I recall the Pell/Dye games as being pretty nasty with accusations flying from both sides. Also vividly recall getting screwed by the refs more than once.
That said, one of my fav games was the Gators putting a 40pt beat down on a highly ranked Auburn team during the early Spurrier years.
I d prefer rotating all the West teams equally, including lsu.

I would like to see UF play every west team more than once every 5 years.

Our game in 83 was contentious then Pell left and we won 3 straight while I was there.

But even including our 83 game, the Auburn game was no match for the contempt/ rage/ hatred we felt for UGA while I was at UF.
It seemed like we focused on Auburn for 1 week/ season, while we thought about UGA 24/7/365.
FSU was more like an annoying little brother.

One other factor that you may not know.
Auburn voted to let us keep our 84 SEC title. And they recognized us as the 84 SEC champs when we visited there in 85.
Two things they didn't have to do- I think that's really classy of them.

In contrast, UGA voted to strip us of our title.

So yeah- the Auburn rivalry had much more respect than UGA and Miami and many others.
And I'd love to play them each year again (provided the officiating was fair. HA!)

I knew all of the above ...doesn't change my opinion as to respect or desire to play them. Hard to respect a program that has cheated as much as they have.

Wasn't it sometime in the 80's before we ever beat Auburn at Auburn?

With the construction of Auburn Stadium in 1939, the Tigers started a remarkable 32-year streak on the Tigers' home field during which they would tie the Gators once and defeat them twelve consecutive times. The Gators broke the Tigers' home-field winning streak in a hard-fought upset in 1973.

I miss playing Auburn and Georgia back to back without an open date like missing a headache. When we played LSU, Auburn, and Georgia back to back to back without an open, I miss that even more. It's no wonder we had so many good teams come up close to winning the SEC, but no cigars.
