There is a paragraph on this on page viii of the ExecSum. Basically the FBI was not going to say anything about it at all but Stuart Evans forced them to include a generic statement:

Due to Evans's persistent inquiries, the FISA application also included a footnote, developed by OI based on information provided by the Crossfire Hurricane team, to address Evans's concern about the potential political bias of Steele's research. The footnote stated that Steele was hi red by an identified U.S. person (Glenn Simpson) to conduct research regarding "Candidate #l's" (Donald Trump) ties to Russia and that the FBI "speculates" that this U.S. person was likely looking for information that could be used to discredit the Trump campaign.

So all they said was it came from Glenn Simpson. There was no information that Simpson was hired by the Clinton campaign.

So you guys think the IG report found that the FBI's investigation was justified? Hah, you fools. The reality:

After IG report debunks right-wing talking points, Sean Hannity lies that "everything we told you was dead-on center accurate"

Bottom line is that gubmint employees and agencies are exempt from consequences same narrative as with Lois Lerner, Hillary Clinton..they didn’t know any better . I have zero confidence in federal law enforcement and at this point would not voluntarily cooperate with them in any way shape or form. They have turned into KGB light

Or maybe, just maybe, your man Hannity has been lying to you. If it was truly about accountability and govt corruption, you'd probably want to get to the bottom of what the hell Giuliani is doing in Ukraine - just as much as you'd want to look at whatever you want to look at with Clinton. Giuliani is literally corruption smacking you over the head, meeting with pro-Russian mafia crooks right out in the open. Instead, you are complaining about federal law enforcement writ large (who are mostly professional people doing their jobs), some random civil servant Lois Lerner (lol) and Hillary Clinton's emails. LMAO.

"Very important, the OIG takes the testimony of DOJ & FBI officials as fact unless proven to be false by a preponderance of the evidence. This means Durham’s investigation has found evidence the OIG did not have that shows those officials are lying."

Kind of. It’s not unusual for the AG to disagree with an IG report. What’s so unusual is that the AGs who have disagreed with IG reports have said that the IG was too harsh and the AG defends the actions of the department. The AG trashing their department in the face of an exculpating IG report is what is so bizarre.

Actually here's more of the footnote:

“Source #1, who now owns a foreign business/intelligence firm, was approached by an identified U.S. person, who indicated to Source #1 that a U.S.-based law firm had hired the identified U.S. person [Glenn Simpson] to conduct research regarding Candidate #1’s [Donald Trump] ties to Russia (the identified U.S. person and Source #1 have a long-standing business relationship.),” the footnote read. “The identified U.S. person hired Source #1 to conduct this research. The identified U.S. person never advised Source #1 as to the motivation behind the research into Candidate #1’s ties to Russia. The FBI speculates that the identified U.S. person was likely looking for information that could be used to discredit Candidate #1’s campaign.”

So you can argue the judges should never had allowed this to go unchallenged...they should have asked the question
But you cannot determine that political bias was the basis for the FISA application

Unless you're claiming the political bias on the judges...not the FBI
The FBI stated their knowledge, context, & position...the judges didn't ask any further questions

ALL of the judges in the FISA process were GOP appointed

Judges Who Approved Carter Page FISA Warrants Were All Nominated by GOP Presidents

Except it's not really bizarre here, because Barr is known to be a P.O.S.

I am all for it along with investigating the Bidens..let the chips fall where they may.
We were all warned of this slippery slope post 9/11 and assured that there were safeguards in place to protect us against our government.

It's bizarre how Trump followers interpret reports. They interpreted the Mueller report as a complete exoneration and this IG report as proof of a corrupt FBI investigation. Makes you wonder if they can actually read.

Barr keeps giving his opinion on this. I may be wrong, but I don't see him referring to specific things in his criticisms of this report and the Mueller report. Where are facts to support his comments about these reports? He really does sound like he's been hired to be Trump's personal lawyer. We all know this isn't the case though, right??

Agreed at how bizarre it is. They don’t question. Trump says Mexico will pay for wall and pubs are like “ok”. Warren says Medicare for all can be paid for and Dems are like “yea, how?”

What's even more amazing is how the trump/Barr DoJ seems to comment multiple times about ongoing investigations...

Ahh, I remember the good ol days when the DoJ said nothing about an ongoing investigation

How can you absolutely prove a crime is committed before you do an investigation unless there is something like a video showing the crime was committed? Are you f'ing serious? C'mon Man!!!
