As the great sage/philosopher Ron White said:
"It's not that the wind blows, it's what the wind blows. You get hit by a Volvo, it doesn't matter how many sit-ups you did that morning."

Thanks. Needed a laugh. This is where it helps to have been hurricane pruned recently. Charlie started our Lee/Collier pruning and Irma finished it. Those storms also took out all of the weakest elements of the power grid so previous hits matter. I think that is one good that would come of an earlier landing but Tampa needs to get real on prep asvit appears they are being caught flat footed.

I'm now in a brand new CB/impact window/metal roof. I have no reason to leave unless its a CAT4/5 dancing on my door.

There's a lot of warm water between Cuba and Venice. CAT4/5 is very likely.

I need someone to explain to me the hoarding of bottled water. It literally comes out of your sink for basically free. You can find things to fill with water all over your house ahead of time. I dunno, I never understood

A distraction from the storm as we sit in our bad hotel room with the old nervous pets settled down.

Bought this from a targeted FB post. Overpriced ($43 shipped), took a month, one sided (not disclosed in the ad) and thin as anything.

But man I love looking at it. Even the wife thought it was worth it

I hear ya. I lived on a lake. My dad was a tampa fire captain and my mom ran the er at tampa general hospital. Both of them were called in for work and my sister and I had a babysitter. Nice older lady who would fall asleep sitting on our couch or chair. Lol I pretty much did what I wanted when she was there. My dad bought me a pram dinghy. As the storm approached I tried to sail it. Figured what the heck, good wind means go fast. The second I set the sail the wind flipped it over. I tried to swim it back to shore but the wind was too strong and carried it across the lake. After that didn’t work I got my skim board and had a great time in the back yard until the sitter threatened to call my dad if I didn’t come inside. Lol

    Good memories

About ten minutes ago, an employee complained that the "Smart Water" in the vending machine costs over $2.00. I said the filtered water fountain had clean water for free. She didn't appreciate that.
