Great flip of top 100 kid. These are the QBs we need to sign each year in order to change program direction and attract other top kids. Admire these coaches for not giving up on kids the want like Kearney and Rashada.

Stokes will move on, but if AR goes and I am thinking he will, need a senior transfer.

I really hope Stokes stays. I know it sucks to feel like a backup plan but he's been pretty vocal about being a Gator fan.

Why would Stokes move on? Rex Grossman did not move on when UF signed Brock Berlin. If you are confident in your abilities you compete for the job. Competition at any college program will be there. If you run from a challenge, you don’t have a winner mindset and confidence in your abilities. The battle is already lost. Bama attracts top QBs each year. Cam Newton signed when we had Tebow. If AR leaves after this year as many predict, the QB position is an open competition for all on the roster. No heir or successor apparent. Who will emerge as the starter? Kerwin Bell, Shane Matthews, Danny, Rex, Terry Dean, Jessie Palmer, …. all won those battles in the past when we did not know who would start that first Fall. Heck, we could take a starting QB from the portal like other top programs have done.

Especially in the era of the transfer portal. If you lose out on the starting spot you can be gone the next season to a place where there is opportunity. Definitely a benefit of the transfer portal for players.

What you are saying is logical, but this kind of logic doesn’t always carry the day. And on Rex, he was in the class prior to Berlin, so he was already at Florida. Still, things do feel different today, where everyone wants to start today. A Trask-like outlook seems to be in the minority.
