LSUs only other SEC win is vs MSU. They lost to UCLA. Now half their team is gone. FSU just beat UNC. I think they are highly comparable. Talented squads that are deeply underperforming. But neutral field I would take FSU over LSU Neutral I’d take LSU over Mizzou and USC, but it’s close. This LSU team will be a deep underdog in all remaining games and likely finishes with 2 Power 5 wins. They are bad The key point is if we lost to this LSU we can lose to USC/Mizzou/FSU. Individually we will be a small (to decent) favorite in all 3. But do we have confidence in putting on a decent showing 3 straight? More than likely one is a clunker (that being said if AR starts and Grantham is fired I do think we win them all).
Sad, but probably true. I would bet my house that Mullen starts EJ. Expecting different results is the true definition of crazy.
We can always lose. That's why we watch the games. I just think LSU would handle FSU, USC & Mizzou without much issue. I agree they're going to end this season very poorly but that's largely because their remaining schedule is pretty brutal with three top-25 teams and Arkansas.
I thought we'd lose every road game but USF, the D would be just as bad or worse and the O would struggle. and No I'm not patting myself on the back for my negativity turning out right so far
We lost more this year and we are looking like 8-4 hopefully. The portal helped and Dan works that well at least. Get the turnover ratio to turn around and a lot of problems are solved. If we lose more than one more in 21, next years outlook drops also.
0 losses - Miracle on one front, but Grantham is retained. 1 loss - Assuming Georgia, a salvaged season at 8-4. Assuming one of the others ... Grantham may be sacrificed 2 losses - Pretty standard if disappointing rebuilding record. Mullen is safe, Grantham probably also safe. 3 losses - Grantham is probably gone. Mullen's seat is very warm. 4+ losses - all bets are off
I'll wait to see what the coaching changes are before predicting anything for next season. We can use the portal again to plug some holes that we are going to have.
To be fair, he didn't say that team was the "2021 team" he just said it wasn't the "2020 team." Which - I know we're all poking fun at it - I kind of get. We're stuck in this limbo world where best part of the team bails to preserve NFL prospects. It's kind of like a split squad.
He seemed to care about bowl games at miss st, went 5-3 I believe. Except for 1 orange bowl which he lost, they were all minor bowls tho
I’ve followed the Gators since 1970. There have been quite a few times that the Gators lost a game and based on that outcome and looking at the rest of the schedule, it looked like curtains for the Gators, but things turned out better than expected. So, we lose to Georgia (and we don’t know that’s certain, yet) and we’re 4 and 4. South Carolina and Missouri are on the road, but they don’t have good teams this year. Samford is a given this year. FSU is at home and I don’t see them coming to Gainesville and beating us. That makes us 8-4. We get a lesser bowl game and I don’t see anyone leaving early for the NFL that would make a difference and we end up 9-4.
A good DC can make mediocre players look good. Think about what Dan did with the “poor” offensive talent that was left behind by McElwien. And a good defense is all we would have needed the past 2 years. And a DC that is good will be able to attract better talent. A good defense would overcome some of the issues Mullen has. We have lost 6 one possession games in the past 2 years out of the 7 losses the past 2 years. A good defense would get 2-3 more stops a game, which would have won us at least 5 more games over the past 2 years. But I agree Mullen is partially responsible for the defensive issues by retaining Grantham.
South Carolina!?!? LOL!!! That team is ass! Ditto for FSU. We have 1 more loss, UGA. Everyone else on the schedule stinks like sh--. South Carolina..lol..they play Vandy to 1pt games.
