The question shouldn't be "how many more games do we lose?" Rather it should be "How many more games do we beat ourselves?" because as long as changes aren't made, especially the DC, We will never give ourselves a truly legitimate chance to win.
Part of me thinks getting a new DC is like repairing a totaled car with bondo. Everything might look good but the underlying problems are still there and will still reveal themselves. Will a new DC repair the following issues at the same time?: - mediocre recruiting by SEC standards, particularly in the trenches - poor QB (and overall roster) management that plays tenured players over more talented players - poor coach management that keeps bad coaches around 2+ years past their expiration - poor close game execution that inevitably loses most of them, usually with bad clock management - poor communication with the press and fanbase through arrogant coach speak I wish Dan was it, but he likely isn’t. Not many people fundamentally change when they are like this, you can temporarily take a step forward but inevitably you’ll regress back to the mean.
Georgia for sure, possibly either Missouri, South Carolina or (dare I say it?) FSU. I think we lose 1 of those 3 to finish 8-5. We went 8-4 last year with one of the best offenses ever and are now 7-6 in our last 13 games. The program is heading in the wrong direction.
Yep, lot of crazy… Predict the Score: (20) Florida at LSU, Saturday - 12 Noon on ESPN Not to mention all the crap posters gave others that thought Kentucky wasn’t gonna be a gimme.
This. That was probably the worst LSU team we’ve seen in a decade (maybe two?) and on top of that we were essentially playing their second string, so if we can lose to them we can lose to anyone. Realistically we have the talent to beat everyone on the schedule except UGA handily, but we’re headed towards a tailspin right now after the past few losses. Hope we get the ship righted and motivate the guys not to pack it in, too much pride to play for still
After Saturday we could lose al but one. LSU was a team playing without six of its best players and until we played them was one of the worst rushing teams in the country. They were also one of the worst teams against the rush until we played them. It's all on Grantham and DM's stubbornness. Soon the players will start to quit, if they already haven't.
I think we lose to UGA and FSU and then Mullen announces the Sunday after FSU he is leaving the program. 6 days later he is announced as the coach of USCw, as LSU is courting him. The guy is gone folks. We then lose to Pitt or NC State in the Weedwacker Bowl with only 50 guys dressed for game. We lose 2/3 of the recruiting class including Nic Evers, who commits to USCw when Mullen is announced. We hire Fickell at 8.5 mil a year, and he hits the recruiting trail and salvages a top 25 recruiting class and we improve to 9-2 next year...then who knows. Mullen wins 10 games in 2022 and makes it to PAC-12 championship game in his first year. Then he hits the skids and they lose 3 in 2023 and another 3 in 2024 and he gets fired there in year 4 also. Winds up as the OC for the Dolphins or Steelers.
we have entered a high-altitude stall and it will take the right crew to recover other wise we will be shark bait .....
Well, for what it's worth, Kentucky hadn't played a currently ranked team until Saturday where they lost by 17. I'm not counting us because at this point it has been exposed that we did not deserve that preseason ranking and we aren't currently ranked. I'm not convinced they are a good team, more so that the SEC is again a top heavy conference with UGA and UA being the only really good teams surrounded by a couple decent teams, then a bunch of crap. I don't think we'll lose any more games except UGA, but I've been surprised before.
