Duruji nearly perfect on his shooting and made both his free throws! Now that is what we are going to need along with the 3 blocks and two steals! I had not seen this kind of game from him all year, he got his chance to start and made the most of it.

Duruji really got a chance to show his athleticism on the court tonight. Castleton is going to need more inside help as we get further into the SEC so Duruji needs to keep improving like he did tonight.

Someone here had posted a wish list that included Mann getting his first double-double. Almost made it, had 9 points last night. He's almost always going to score in double figures for us.

Great stats. But let us remember that those stats came against perhaps the worst team in the league. The next game will provide us more of a measure of where we are at and who has ‘it’ together. Go Gators.

Really enjoyed watching the team execute and play well. Caltselton and Duruji give me hope that UF's inside game may be a factor this year.

Castleton is such a nice addition. Great hands, good FT shooter. Has just enough offensive moves and better than expected on D. Duruji came to play too! I really like our style this year. We could have easily had 100+ points if we made our layups and FTs.

Castleton is a solid player. I'd like to see him put on another 15 pounds of muscle for next season and get a mean streak going. The aggressiveness started to come out last night for the first time, I think.
Lest he be forgotten, Omar Payne seems to have developed his skills more since last season, and is playing hard more consistently. There's not much separating Colin and Omar right now, just an edge in offensive skills for Colin.

That's true. But also take into account...us.

We sent a team there that hasn't practiced much, hasn't played much, and is just beginning to figure out the missing elephant in the room.

For as much as the opponent made us look good, we might have seen our floor last night, not our ceiling.

I see Castleton far ahead of Payne on offense. Payne needs to make up for his lack of offense by rebounding and defense but not doing much of either at this point. Probably the reason he got 10 minutes and Castleton got 30.

Duruji looked better last night than in any of his previous games. Didn’t take a lot of bad shots so that was definitely a step in the right direction. Glover appears to have wrapped up the third string PG position. Would like to see Samson play some minutes.

I liked the number of blocked shots we had last night. I liked more even more the number of blocked shots that were kept in play with the Gators ending up gaining possession.

I totally agree. To me it seems that Payne's footwork needs a lot of practice as he often seems unbalanced and I also think he needs to continue to bulk up. At this point in his development, he's not really a great rebounder which could also hurt him to get more minutes. I do think there will be plus games where Payne plays well, but I think he'll continue to play up and down. Right now Castleton just seems way ahead of him.

We are 3rd in the country in blocks per game, which is incredible when you consider we don't have some massive inside presence like a Pat Young.

That's really surprising. I felt like we were doing a good job of it, but nothing special.

Noah was really great at doing that.

David Lee blocked a lot of shots, but most of them went out of bounds so the opposing team kept possession.

Bill Russell was a genius at blocking shots that his teammates could gather up.

Agree about Omar. Anyone else notice how much quicker he looks now too? And more aggressive + confident
