There's a very good reason why we were able to recruit Kasey Hill, Chris Walker and Scottie Lewis...they weren't going to the NBA all along. We think we got lucky signing 5-star recruits, but the experts from NBA execs, agents, to shoe companies etc knew they didn't have it. That's why other teams didn't pay top dollar to bring them in. Yes Scottie had a slightly different situation given his sponsor family, but if those 3 were really any good, they would have already made the NBA, regardless of White.

You may disagree with the above reasoning, but to think that White is the reason they're not in the NBA is absolutely ridiculous. Do you honestly believe a single coach has that much impact? It's because they were undersized, can't make a shot, or some other reason. If they had what it takes they'd be in the league. What you're saying is that all those UK players make it to the NBA is because of what a great coach Cal is. That's the flip-side argument. And we all know that's a ridiculous argument, but somehow some believe that White is the reason these guys aren't in the league.

This. Is the reason he's not in the league. Very little if anything to do with Coach White.

I agree. Coaches are not expected to develop extremely talented kids.

the problem is not everyone responds to coaching, or is uncoachable... or they just don't have it

I remember when we talked about Al in the Horford thread.

I hope he balls out tomorrow. 12/10/5.

Coaches can make a difference if (1) they are more effective in identifying HS talent that can transition to the next level and (2) they can identify players that can be effective playing in their specific scheme/system.

That’s certainly true, but Kasey’s best year was as a freshman. He shooting got worse over his college career, and he never learned to play the game using multiple gears. He was never a true point guard. I am not saying that this was White’s fault, but I can tell you that White was terrible at developing players in his 7 years at UF.

I think the GSW have figured out this Celtic team. I was hopeful Horford would get his ring, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen this year. Too bad :(

think when it is all said and done dorian finney smith might win more chips. Dallas have great upside and Doncic is leader for mvp race this year on sportsbetting3. com and DFS fits with him perfectly and great contract. if they stay together he could win 3+

big if with Doncic, he's farrrr too ball dominant. he needs to involve his team more, not just on bailout passes

What in tarnation? We are in total agreement. When's the last time someone that ball dominant (ball hog) won an NBA title?

Haha, imagine that. He's too similar to a long list of PGs before him that try to take on an entire defense by themselves, while their teammates watch

Horford gets 2 year extension for $20 mil. Will play until he is 39, if he holds up. Good for Al.

Horford, Celtics agree to 2-year, $20M extension

Interesting stat in the article - Al is shooting 49% from 3 pt land this year, third among active centers. Never would have thought I would see that stat in basketball at any level ever. My, how things have changed.
