No chance Steele becomes a safety. I’ll take the o line all day

Never say never. Our safety situation is worse than our CB situation, which is hard to believe at DBU.

He just moves like such a natural corner. Good hips, really quick. Haselwood couldn’t get separation the other night at all when Steele checked him

Yes, he needs to be in coverage, but I like the best 11 on the field. Marco, Henderson, Dean, Burney, Steele, and ? should be on the field at the same time. I don't think that Stewart, Davis, Taylor, and lesser so Stiner have shown us enough to say that they are a no-brainer for one of the two safety starting spots. I would even love to see Hopper or Black as one of the safeties. However, safety isn't one of the easier positions to nail down, so I am not expecting a freshman there for a lot of snaps next year.

We played true frosh at safety two years ago

We played sophomores this past season

    This year will be juniors

    Bigger and more experienced

Looks better to me at safety

I don't love the number of O-linemen, but I don't think they love the depth we currently have (maybe not in numbers but talent/physically). I think/hope this is a one time thing and a combination of they like these guys better than what we have and casting a wide net of bringing in 7, hit on 3-5 and inevitably lose one to transfer and one to injury/stupidity.
