He definitely needed a break, was getting a bit whacked since President Trump won again. I actually usually like his post and sense of humor. The last few months he did some Major spinning. Just like bigcypress but I always thought he was batshit crazy and whined ALOT

That is not what the original claim was. The original claim was a US manufactured phones (there are not right now) and one that was 100% US components (that is 100% impossible fiction). Licensing someone else's phone and rebranding it is NOT making a US manufactured phone.

 

That is not how this works. Further, if you were introducing a new brand, even a rebranded version of someone else's phone, you would NEVER get through the regulatory hurdles by August. At best, they are going to be something like a Lenovo phone without a brand label on it and Trump will pay them for the right to slap their logo on it. I will be very curious to hear about who handles the on-going reliability testing for the network providers, the RMA processes for defective phones, etc....

 

So what is your point? That could mean they were making licensing deals with American manufacturers…. But they are obviously not …. They lied about them being American made and have already started to backtrack…. Just take your L, you don’t have to defend every lie Trump tells…

 

The original announcement from Trump's son said "an American Phone built in the United States". Days later, it became "call centers in St. Louis". I watched him say it. He is a lying scumbag from a family of lying scumbags.

How does "but it's a licensing deal" somehow negate the Trump's lies about the phones being made in the US? The Ls are piling up, bro...

 

You still aren't supposed to tell outright lies when you are engaged in a licensing deal. Again, they are choosing their words carefully to lie without FTC action. Licensees often have legal liability for business choices made by their partners (something that the Trump Organization knows well as they have been sued and found liable to a number of lies that they told in regards to their licensing partners, many of whom are white collar criminals).

 

I wonder how many people have lined up trying to get Trump's name on their products?
