High School/College Sports NIL discussion thread

I have to wonder if Lagway's individual deal with Jordan Brand (Nike) cuts into UF's deal with Jordan Brand (Nike)?
Also, what is worn on gameday when one of UF's football players inks a deal with Adidas? Are we going to have pieces of tape covering the jersey logo and different pair of cleats?

 

Travis Hunter signed a deal with Adidas last season, while at Colorado. He wore the Adidas in interviews.

 

I'm assuming that the interview was a football related event, so I could see Nike getting annoyed even by that. They are paying CO a lot of money to sponsor their teams.

 

I looked it up, he signed the deal before the bowl game. I remember him wearing Adidas apparel in an interview, knowing that Colorado was a Nike school.

 

Pretty sure they're contractually obligated to wear the school's uniform for any school related activities. Guess we'll see what happens with the lee kid when basketball starts, but I'd bet more than a few dollars he will be wearing J's or Nike's on gameday.

Could be a (probably not big) deal though. The bose/beats thing a few years ago in the NFL was kind of a shit show.

 

Why is DJ wearing Nike cleats if we are a Jordan Brand teams and he just signed a deal with Jordan?

I know Nike owns Jordan but you would think he would wear the Jordan cleats.

 

You would think EW3 would wear the normal Gator logo back pad instead of a sharpy !YAC! while getting -4 yards on 5 catches.

 

Id guess he prefers them. You can tell alot about a man by his shoes. Ever tried to ball in some shoes that dont agree with you. They can be very different. Maybe jordan needs to make some custom DJ's.
