How our o-line looked last night they could have safely made it 20 free wings.
I kid... sorta
Have they figured out a way to minimize bowl game opt outs? That really is irritating at the end of the season.
I expect we’ll make the playoff after this year but just in case, it would be nice to have an incentive to finish with the team.
The contracts can't legally be tied to playing time or performance. I would guess you could try to get them into another location based contract based on the location of the bowl game and require some type of appearance there, but that wouldn't force them to play, only to travel.
The opt out thing is way over talked anyway. It's usually only a couple of guys and it's rarely happening on teams that still have title hopes. Almost all of our "opt outs" last year weren't really "opt outs", they were transfers. They only have short windows now to enter the portal and most of them are being pushed to move on. We shouldn't be upset about them leaving as soon as they're able to. Spots on other teams fill up fast. If you want them to be able to find a new home, they should be able to get their names on the market asap. If they're not going to be with us next year, we might as well let the guys who will be here take their reps.
OSU AD is saying that recruits are asking for $5k just to visit.
Gene Smith claims recruits asking for $5K for visit is 'common' in NIL
NIL lawsuit against NCAA, conferences granted class-action status
Based on the lawsuit’s allegations, an injunction against the NCAA’s remaining rules regarding athletes’ ability to make money from their names, images and likenesses (NIL) could create the possibility of athletes being able to get NIL money from their schools for any reason.
"We're now poised to get the rules stricken that prevent conferences and schools from making NIL payments," said Steve Berman, one of the lead attorneys for the plaintiffs. "That's going to be huge for these athletes."
Profit sharing in the future?
Does a NFPO have profits to share?
Georgia High School Association approves NIL deals for athletes
Get it while you can because most people don't like the product. The well will eventually run dry, in my opinion. Shitty products don't remain on the shelf for long.
Florida High School Athletic Association drafting NIL proposal for review
There’s okenty of fans for the tv but who will continue byonpaybthrbpsyroll. Shit probably getting old already. Who knows
Well, just further evidence that what I posted several times before makes sense about the NIL, Transfer Portal, New NCAA (pay to play), NFL light, reality:
If UF wants to "get in the game" they better cut the bullcrap and
develop incentives to sign top recruits. What do I mean by that?
Handing a kid or his handlers a "bag" and an NIL number is OLD NEWS.
If UF wants to play with the big boys (Bama, UGA, Texas, Ohio State, Oregon) etc. they better come up with incentive packages that include:
1) Cash to visit. Forget Ohio State and FSU, raise that fee to visit to $15,000 or $20,000. This fee escalates 25% with each subsequent visit until committed. Should the recruit NOT commit, there is no penalty.
2) Offer Housing and Real Estate Packages for the Family and Handlers.
3) Investor Portfolios with Stock Options.
4) Entertainment and toys, Cars, Trucks, Boats, Jet Ski's what have you.
5) A luxury box at BHG for the 5 stars.
6) A % of the gate and concessions at home games.
7) Retirement income for mom and dad.
Regarding rules and laws: BREAK THEM, IGNORE THEM, just pay the jerks off at the NCAA to keep the ball rolling. Apparant to me that the new rules are to BREAK the RULES.
Think I'm joking or being stupid?
Think again, just look at what is going on with this charade.
You folks can pour all the wealth into this crap you want, I'm keeping what few pennies I have for myself. High School football still ain't bad but I'm sure thats next. In fact there is a thread about it already starting.
to add to that, with NIL about to become a thing for HS kids, Florida Victorious should “hey, we have a company we can link you up with when it comes to NIL but it’s contingent on your commitment to UF” kind of thing. You get what im saying. Find a “feeder” company that UF uses for NIL that they can link HS players with if they commit to UF. I didn’t word it right but you get my drift
Oh yeah, gonna be like the old drug money stashed in off shore accounts kinda thing, repleate with all the corruption.
