How our o-line looked last night they could have safely made it 20 free wings.

Have they figured out a way to minimize bowl game opt outs? That really is irritating at the end of the season.

I expect we’ll make the playoff after this year but just in case, it would be nice to have an incentive to finish with the team.

 

The contracts can't legally be tied to playing time or performance. I would guess you could try to get them into another location based contract based on the location of the bowl game and require some type of appearance there, but that wouldn't force them to play, only to travel.

The opt out thing is way over talked anyway. It's usually only a couple of guys and it's rarely happening on teams that still have title hopes. Almost all of our "opt outs" last year weren't really "opt outs", they were transfers. They only have short windows now to enter the portal and most of them are being pushed to move on. We shouldn't be upset about them leaving as soon as they're able to. Spots on other teams fill up fast. If you want them to be able to find a new home, they should be able to get their names on the market asap. If they're not going to be with us next year, we might as well let the guys who will be here take their reps.

Well, just further evidence that what I posted several times before makes sense about the NIL, Transfer Portal, New NCAA (pay to play), NFL light, reality:

If UF wants to "get in the game" they better cut the bullcrap and
develop incentives to sign top recruits. What do I mean by that?

Handing a kid or his handlers a "bag" and an NIL number is OLD NEWS.

If UF wants to play with the big boys (Bama, UGA, Texas, Ohio State, Oregon) etc. they better come up with incentive packages that include:
1) Cash to visit. Forget Ohio State and FSU, raise that fee to visit to $15,000 or $20,000. This fee escalates 25% with each subsequent visit until committed. Should the recruit NOT commit, there is no penalty.
2) Offer Housing and Real Estate Packages for the Family and Handlers.
3) Investor Portfolios with Stock Options.
4) Entertainment and toys, Cars, Trucks, Boats, Jet Ski's what have you.
5) A luxury box at BHG for the 5 stars.
6) A % of the gate and concessions at home games.
7) Retirement income for mom and dad.

Regarding rules and laws: BREAK THEM, IGNORE THEM, just pay the jerks off at the NCAA to keep the ball rolling. Apparant to me that the new rules are to BREAK the RULES.
