I wouldn't move us up following a loss but I also wouldn't drop us. I would, however, be prepared to move us up pretty quickly following our next couple of consecutive wins.
I've heard this over and over again and again...
The polls matter to the recruits!
All those stops were what....bammers trippn over themselves? The refs? The 3D chalk lines???
5 plays where the first guy missed a tackle. That’s the difference in the game.
That said, great game by the defense starting Quarter 2
Difference in the game was a missed xp in 2nd Q.
If UF makes those 5 tackles the XP doesn’t matter, UF wins by 2 TDs
If K makes xp those 5 missed tackles don't matter. As if when playing incredible 5* athletes there's never going to be "missed" tackles. Way easier to make an xp than EVERY tackle against future NFL players.
I'll have rewatch, take q closer look. I saw a few bad angles resulting in whifs, but when yall say we cant tackle, i infer when our guy(s) get(s) hands on a guy, and the guy keeps going. I dont recall seeing any of those (actually, i saw a few where bamas tackling left much to be desired...).
A bad angle is a missed tackle. But no, Bama didn’t break a lot of tackles
Ok. Take your inferior talent apathy to the recruiting forum
Ok, well at least now i know what y'all are referring to. Be that as it may, we has more stops than non-stops, and held bama to less yardage (<400 for first time in 30 games i think they said), and points than most teams over the last several years.
Eg--if we could have held bama to 32 points in the SECCG, wed have another trophy.
Our d is much improved over last year, though certainly room to improve.
Bama had 4 TDs, 1 FG, 0 tunrovers, and 4 punts on the game. One of those punts I wouldn't call a stop bc they were successfully bleeding the clock at the end of the game. In my book that's more non-stops than stops.
The defense in the 2nd half looked better on the stat sheet than they actually were because every possession bled so much clock that Bama only had the ball 3 times.
That being said, I agree the defense is improved. But the score and stats are a bit misleading.
The tide only converted 4 non penalty 3rd downs all game, you were watching something different.
Not quite sure the missed tackles were why we lost the game. Davis and Pierce both made Bama players whiff also.
The difference between the winner and the loser were 3 plays. First, the missed PAT, 2nd we turned the ball over (they did not) and 3rd we dropped a INT by Cox that could have been 6 (possibly but at a minimum stopped their TD drive).
The 1st quarter was a nightmare and the last 3 showed this team and coaches can make adjustments and play good football.
Just need to focus on each game individually and play Bama again with a fresh AR for the SEC Championship. AR would have been a difference maker yesterday and he will be going forward.
Go Gators and beat them Vols!!!
Who teaches tackling?
So we lost to the national champ and #1 ranked team at home by a missed XP and coming up a half yard shy at the goal line. 3 quarters of the game was us manhandling them up front and running it down their throats.
Ohio St lost to #4 Oregon at home by 7 getting manhandled up front...
So which team SHOULD be ranked higher this week and which team will be ranked higher?
Alabama’s defense didn’t miss tackles, too?
Most teams will be inferior to Bama. Bama has more 5 stars than most teams have 4 stars. Bama has more 4 stars than most teams. It's very difficult to find a 3 star player on their roster, where as ours is chock full of them.
