The problem is Strickland and him giving his HC a contract that removes any pressure from winning. Strickland should have been fired last year.
You know, I originally wanted to say 3-5 but then I switched it to “At Least”. It’s still early in the off season so we’ll see what happens!
A CEO doesn't make sales calls or drive a delivery truck. A CEO doesn't answer the phone or work the drive through. A CEO manages all of his/her employees in order to maximize their collective success. Give up the play calling Billy...please!
Don't forget the defensive coordinator and super top secret executive defense coach or whatever, all because BN refused to hire a competent coordinator or step back from doing two jobs to mentor his current one. Just lots of questionable choices, none of which are panning out. If you look around and everyone else is doing things one way while you're doing things differently, maybe ask why, especially if you're failing.
I observed improvement in playcalling, aggressiveness of the passing game, and most especially urgency in game flow the second half the season. The long perspective is that if CFB continues down this path of portal/NIL then the head coach basically needs to become a GM with roster management and hand off play calling to a dedicated OC, or the HC calls plays but have an associate coach essentially dedicated to roster management. The latter does not seem tenable in the organizational structure of CFB as it is right now.
I’ve said it before and will say it again, Drink is an excellent coach and shows you he can change his mindset. Very impressive.
