Well he was wearing his grandma’s couch during the game so there’s that
We went shot for shot with arguably the best team, definitely the one with the best resume, in their own house at night in front of a sold out crowd for 3-3 1/2 quarters of football. Given less injuries and a neutral field, I don't see why we don't have a chance winning that game.
With that said, I believe that puts us in the playoff conversation until 3 other teams prove we don't belong.
He had no choice but to say something nice..
Both teams on the field that night spanked his Alma mater..
Just win out and we're good. Team should be focused and hopefully we get some guys back in time for UGA after the bye.
They are a crappy analyst when they don't praise your team.
They are a great analyst when they do praise your team.
I hope we go into USCe pissed off on defense and take that game to the Game Cocks.
Is mizzou even eligible to win the east? I know they have a bowl ban, aren't those penalties typically all post season?
He does seem to like Kyle Trask.
It appears they are grooming a dog to take over for him one day. I am thankful it ain't today.
If we were to lose 1 of the 3 games left (discounting vandy), as long as one isn't in Jax I'll be ok.
It's nice to face those 3 believing we can win. Will be a battle this Saturday. Keep Trask upright and we'll win. We have to roll in to Jax with fierce determination. We will beat Missouri as long as the temperature is above 40. It may be the toughest game left.
I detest Desmond bc he is a know nothing.
Herbstreit is a B among the media.
Its fandom so folks IMO can hate who they want.
Desmond doesn't seem to understand southern football.
Desmond doesn't seem to understand the English language
I never understood Desmond getting and keeping that spot. It's almost as if someone or some group wanted him to look bad (and as a bonus make others at the desk look smarter).
His first few years were especially painful to watch.
Herbie isn't all that bad. For years he was always the enemy in the Gator faithfuls eyes. He's alright. He's only awkward when he's getting the call on the Ohio State games. You can tell he wants to try to be objective but hopes all of his positive comments will affect the outcome of the game.
He was very praiseworthy of the Gators at LSU. And particularly with Trask. Even they, for 3/4's of that game, thought we might take it...
But...it was not meant to be.
Announcers, the talking heads, ref's...they say and do what they do and regardless of what happens, we have to live with the results as do all the other teams in the NCAA! Most of them don't give you much credit until you can't be ignored any more. The Auburn win slapped everyone upside the head that had been ignoring us. The results of the LSU game confirmed that all of the talking heads were right, (made them feel good-basic psychology 101 stuff) bolstered their objectivity so they then could offer up some praise on the Gators seeing they did show up and played a great game. The tiny paragraph in the power index says it all. They have us at '7' and said how can you penalize Florida for going in there and basically trading touchdowns with LSU and eventually losing. Or something to that effect.
Fast forward to today: It all pretty much means nothing now. All old news. Now we move on and have to beat SCe or our goals, hopes and dreams of getting to the SEC championship game start to fade pretty quickly.
I guess we'll see how adversity plays out.
No they aren’t eligible
He definitely sounded like he was genuinely very impressed with Kyle on Sat night.
Sorry to be a spoil sport. I am not a Herbie fan. Don't hate him either. Kannell is another story.
I just do not see the Gators as a playoff team without a lot of luck and good news on the injury front. We are one tier down and not far away.
I feel he was bashing our OL to deter any RB recruits considering us.
e.g. something like “Perine is an excellent RB but has nowhere to run and terrible stats because of the UF OL”(...therefore a good RB shouldn't go to UF.)
But I’m a pessimist.
I think that's an overreaction to the SC loss, although Georgia did look terrible. I don't know.
Assuming our defense doesn't break down like against LSU and we don't inexplicably pull Trask with a hot hand to waste random series on running EJ, I like our chances.
