    My son creates uniforms, fields and such for the old NCAA 14 game and is quite knowledgeable about colors, stitching etc. on all jerseys. He recently brought it to my attention that from Grossman until now the boys are wearing an entirely different shade of blue. I thought it was more to do with the style of jersey, materials etc. but, it is not. They have entirely different color codes and the modern variety is just generic Nike blue and not even Royal Blue. The orange is slightly different as well, but, not as noticeable. I'd be interested to see when it was first changed and our record since if anyone can find that information. The attached photo has a couple of unfinished uniforms with the true Royal Blue on the left with the modern flat/pastel blue on the right.

    Our blue has always had a little variation in it, but has been a little lighter than the Auburn blue. I kind of like the lighter blue on the right.

    We need the Buffalo Bills' home, Jersey blue color/hue. That's the blue that looks right.

    Personally I love the variations. It's like we own the entire orange and blue color spectrum, everyone else be damned.

    How about 1966? I think todays blue looks more like the blue Florida had in the 1960's.

    Right now it looks too powdery/MILKY light-blue for me... could be more TV and computer screens.

    For every Homecoming, I’d like to see the uniforms (or at least the helmets) used from 20 or 30 years before.

    As long as we're complaining about the important things, has anybody noticed that the numbers on our jerseys and Gators script on our helmets don't have the same distinct blur/fuzz since HDTV became the norm? This break from tradition has been bothering me for years.

    I heard Nike did this because they wanted to make other schools with the same shade of blue since it was cheaper than making separate shades.

    There was a period maybe 00-05 or so the orange pants looked peach on tv. Urban never wore them after 05, then Muschamp brought them back and they looked great again.
