FNC was reporting that rockets have been fired into Tel Aviv, Israel. Rockets were fired from Gaza which is controlled by Hamas, a terrorist organization. Not much else was reported but I think more will be coming. Have no doubt that Israel will make a response.

Israel has already responded to the attack, which was apparently unintentional.

Rockets fired at the capital by mistake? Am I the only one who feels like this shouldn't be thing?

Both the Israelis and Hamas consider it a mistake and it's not very often that they are in agreement.

Not buying it. That’s a very vague statement by IDF made in the middle of negotiations. They were letting Hamas publicly save a little face. Israel got their point across with their hundred strike response.

Their mistake was the failure to expect retaliation, Israeli style.

Mistake or not, Israel would never let any enemy or potential enemy get away with launching rockets against Israeli territory. The retaliation should have been completely expected. One of the reasons that I buy into the mistake narrative is that in virtually every one its military actions against Israel Hamas has taken credit. They didn't do so this time.

Edit: This may also shed some light on the mistake narrative although admittedly it may also be an attempt to avoid escalation.

Mistake. They were shooting elsewhere? So what. The people elsewhere are as much people as the people on Tel Aviv. Fire rockets into Israel anywhere and expect a response.

The mistake, if there was one, was firing the rockets in the first place. Whether you want to believe it or not, the mistake narrative is that Hamas never intended to fire the rockets at all. They were launched by mistake. Maybe it was intentional and Hamas decided on second thought that another war may not have been such a good idea after all and maybe the IDF is going along with the narrative because Netanyahu wants to avoid a full scale war before the upcoming election. The only people who really know are those directly involved.

It’s a good thing that Israel responded as they did and that Hamas cane running for a cease fire. This and Trump’s response in destroying Syria’s Air Force will put the rest of the Ne’er Do Wells in the Middle East on notice that any aggression that they initiate will be responded to 10 fold.

Haha, that's the excuse you give when you are dodging retaliatory incoming ordinance.

I had a mental image of them yelling, "Alahua Ackbar" when they fired them, followed by, "oh shit' when Israel retaliated.
