As you know, all of us have been going to through this year's bowl selections and I find it truly inspiring and yes, humorous that both the Nolies and the Co-Caines are both going to impressive (cough, cough) bowls this year! F.S.U. is going to the, get this... the, "Tony The Tiger Sun Bowl" against the Sun Devils on December 31st. While Miami is going against Louisiana Tech in the Independence Bowl (Weedwacker Bowl) in the lovely city of Shreveport, Louisiana on December 26th. Folks... my relatives are mostly all from the Ruston, Louisiana area. I have been to that stadium in Shreveport. You don't wanna go there! It's in a bad part of town (and Shreveport is not all that great to start with!) But the stadium looks like an upgraded high school venue. Railroad tracks are right next to it. And yes, they hold a lot of rodeos in that stadium. Here is a quote: "It will indeed be Shreveport, Louisiana and the Independence Bowl for the Miami Hurricanes this college football bowl season. UM will play against Louisiana Tech in a 4 p.m. kickoff on Dec. 26 in Shreveport’s Independence Stadium, it was announced on Sunday. Miami’s Independence Bowl selection, which fell in line with various projections, is a disappointment after the Hurricanes fell deep into the allotment of Atlantic Coast Conference-affiliated bowl games by ending the regular season with losses to FIU and Duke to finish 6-6." You gotta love it! Have FSU and Miami ever been this low before in the entire history of those two schools? Time to cherry-pick some good recruits from South Florida!
