I will begin a series on grading each room, and put out two a week. Certainly these are subject to change as guys are added or subtracted from the room. Question 1 for each room is did the talent improve from 24 versus 23. Lets look at who is currently on the roster. Teradja Mitchell Shemar James Deric Wingo Deuce Spurlock Jaden Robinson Mannie Nunnery Myles Graham Aaron Chiles As of this writing UF adds Graham and Chiles and is loosing Scooby Williams to the portal. UF is also thought to be the leader for Grayson Howard who entered the portal on 1/02/24 from USCe. UF was most likely 2nd in Howards recruitment last year and he is from Jacksonville. If Howard signs with UF or another LB I'm hearing about they would contend for starter IMO beside James next year. Without a doubt this group should be much better than what we saw in 23. Projected starters without Grayson Howard IMO would be James and Wingo with Nunnery in on passing downs. Mitchell, Spurlock, Robinson provide good depth. Graham and Chiles are the future and we hope to see Robinson take that next step. Add in Howard or Portal LB #2 and this position could be vastly improved SEC caliber. The last caveat is who will coach these guys. The list of candidates is very good and I would be happy with any of them. Bateman was listed as a good recruiter even very good by some but his development of talent has always been questionable. Regardless of who coaches them from a S&C and experience standpoint UF should be much better. Candy
Seems like forever since we've had a seriously solid SEC LB room. Get Howard in and we may have it. It's just sad that with sky high potential recruits like Graham and Chiles that we'll never be confident again of retaining and watching them develop for at least 3 years.
Yeah pretty sure he is out of eligibility. Still baffled as to why Pup Howard chose USCe over UF to begin with.
Add “Pup” and room is solid and much better than last year. I actually like Wingo, Robinson, and Nunnery but like them in specific roles and as linebackers 3-5. Add in Chiles and Graham and you’ve gotta talented room. Even next year with Robinson, the 2 young guys, and hopefully Pup and you’ve got 4 solid guys talent wise.
Jamar Cheny, D.J Durkin, Partridge, i think Chris is first name. And now I guess Gene Chizek is avsilable also.
What I like to see. Closing quickly on a kid that liked Florida and grew up close to home is the way it should be.
Who’s 1 & 2 Candy, if you had to choose? Would you foresee any head butting between AA and the older coaches? That’s a good list of LB coaches.
