You’re right. The defensive game plan was a winning strategy and good design. The late substitutions, timeout management, trotting Emory out there to stall another drive when we were moving the ball, was all on the players. Good summary

Especially the way UGly looked so totally inept the last 2 games. It's like they knew TG was gonna play soft and came out swinging.

Agree on the play action, as all it does is take the play longer to develop and force our offensive line to block longer. Just get in the shotgun and throw it and run an occasional jet sweep

he will tell you over and over we did fine against LSU and SC stopping the run even Though both teams went over their average total yards per game rushing against us. You are correct. Defense could not get off the field. Played soft zone and allowed Jake to toy w us. This officer and would’ve been OK on first and second down but on third and more than five we should have bumped them at the line nonstop.

I like how we've gone from Grantham being terrible to complaining about Mullen running one EJ play in the whole game. If you have actual criticisms we can discuss them but it seems like it's just whining.

It was one example among many.

One team was better prepared, better organized and put its players in an advantageous position to win ...the other did not. But you are more than welcome to pretend that wasn’t the case.

Remember when everyone was killing the OP in Grantham part 1, demanding the thread be deleted....now we have to have a part 2...but hey, we're all just haters and we are lucky to have TG.

Out of 30 pass attempts for Fromm, how many was he pressured on? Three times tops. He wasn’t sacked a single time. Trask on the other hand was pressured on every single throw. Fromm had all day to throw and they were wearing us down as the game went on. It’s a talent gap issue, NOT a coaching issue. We have to close the gap there and we’ve got to be patient. Dan inherited a pretty terrible team and he just turned it into 2 straight 10-win seasons barring an upset these next 3 games. No offense but it’s completely insane to call it a coaching issue.

Or maybe replace those players and let other personnel get a chance when they continually mess up. Let a different player try instead of continually watching the same old, same old.

This is a grip I have with this coaching staff. They appear to stick with players no matter how poorly they are doing on the field. It takes an injury for changes in personnel to be made.

The problem with the original thread wasn't that it criticized TG, it was that the post was just pure unmitigated garbage. You're conflating people refuting stupid crap with people being unwilling to critically examine TG.

They brought in 5 at corner so they could play 3/30 in place of 21. 76 has played a fair bit so they can sit 67. We've got a committee at RB, not that it matters with the OL being what it is. It sure seems to me like they're willing to play guys, so when they don't replace a guy like 56 it indicates to me that there's just not another guy that has a reasonable shot of improving the situation at this point.

Beating the best teams in the SEC (in recruiting or on game day) will NOT come down to luck. It will require urgency, aggressiveness, willingness to adapt and the fortitude to make changes including personnel who do not perform ... even if they are BFFs. All CEOs who become great do this.

I’m sure the starters are guys who give us the best opportunity to win.
