Someone needs to pull the trigger on him then.
Well, now ya know we need pics to judge her ability to make these types of decisions, scientifically speaking of course.
Have to say I always thought Grantham was THE biggest problem and that Mullen earned a long leash after his first 2 and a half years. That LSU loss last year followed by the bowl game shortened the least quite a bit even if it was still pretty long.
He could have easily withstood an average or even sub par year but this implosion along with a complete and total lack of stopgap of any kind has lost an otherwise successful coach any leeway. Whether it be a fundamental change, coaching change, verbal address etc I expected SOME kind of come to Jesus moment that would at least acknowledge some failure and some plan to fix things. I have No idea what is going on internally behind the scenes but the silence and lack of adaptation is just beyond baffling. How can we be so cursed as to find 3 stunning failures of coaches in a row?
As I read it, there is only one sentence.
Slim Shady is going to have to fire all of them and bring in a home run HBC just to save his own azz.
Just a reminder, Grantham is still the DC. He wasn't fired after LSU and he hasn't been fired so far after USCe. I guess it just doesn't matter how bad things get, Mullen going to let Grantham ride this thing out.
The quoted sentence is the 2nd sentence of the article.
Most stuff drops on Monday, but I’d expect to read some leaks or smoke at this point if something was happening.
The first 2, we took a chance and really didn't know what we were getting. Muschump had never been a HC, unknown commodity except for his work as a DC. Butter teeth was unproven in big time time ball, Colorado state isn't big time ball. I think the Saban mystic influenced both hires.
Mullen was a known commodity. I, probably like everyone else, thought he'd ball out at UF given his record at MSU with so so talent.
But he sure ain't getting the top recruits and this is where it's gotten us.
Looking at it from a recruit's standpoint- hey if the guy in charge can't be bothered to wine and dine me and sends someone else to butter me up, but this other HC from a premier program is promising me the world and giving me all this personal attention, where would you go? Unless you just want to be a Gator the choice is easy
Trigger may be getting pulled on Strick too
I love this idea that either powerful folks behind the scenes will force a change at the head coach level, or Mullen will do the honorable thing and agree to a buyout. But if neither scenario happens, I will be extremely depressed.
With Fuchs, and Stricklin busy trying to get their butt's out of their own scandals to save their jobs, they may not even be looking at the Mullen problem.
Better break out the meds...those aren't happening
May be time to clean house at the UAA, from Strick on down.
Yep, let’s hear it for pharmaceuticals.
Mullen should not be the coach tomorrow. Make the call and let him finish the season while starting the search this week for his replacement.
I can hear it through my tinnitus.
I have this sinking feeling that Grantham is going to be the scapegoat in all of this. Mullen will get one more year. I really hope that I am wrong.
can feel it in the ground way out here in Nevada
No, no, no.... Grantham interim head coach? That interim tag should go to Brewster. And he should be retained if we do get a new HBC... as part of the deal with the new guy.
