Week 1: Dexter: 12 tackles (nine solo) & 3 sacks

I will try to get his stats each week.

I don't follow recruiting much, so please forgive my ignorance to the question. But is it possible Dexter could be similar in college ball to Jadeveon Clowney? That dude was a freak.

I predict he will anchor the defense. Kid can ball. He should turn into that monster leader we need.

I don't think their games are comparable, though hopefully their impact will be. Gervon is much bigger. He's 30+ lbs more than Clowney was in high school. Clowney is a guy that can and has bounced between rush end/WDE and OLB. I see Gervon as a guy that can play both SDE and DT.

I wouldn’t say Dexter is on that level Clooney was coming out of high school right now. He has not played a lot of football so he is a little raw. Needs work on technique but overall is a freak athlete. Give him a year with Savage and Brush up his technique and he could be a great player for years to come.

Given next year's lack of depth on the DL, we will need him ready to play right away.

He moves well for size. Good chance he's in the rotation next year, might not have any choice but he can handle 15-20 snaps a game. If he does well at some year end camps we could have a 5 *. Flip the DT going to Bama and heck of a start on D line

Dexter will be a “first off the bus” candidate when he arrives.

He ran down a QB tonight 15 yds downfield from the backside and the QB smartly stepped out before getting killed. Covered 40 yds in what seemed like 2 seconds. He is legit physically.

Are we sure about depth? I agree it's concerning, but dont Campbell, Dunlap, slaton, conliffe, Humphries, and Carter all have the option to return? A couple guys leave early and a couple guys get hurt and we would be in trouble.

We need to hit the DL hard the next couple classes. I'm just crossing my fingers they dont have to be thrown in the fire.

Wonder where he’ll end up final rankings. I bet our first 5 star for Mullen! Good start.

DT’s are always at a premium. Hs kids are rarely that size at that age. Most are twenty years old at least before they are physically ready. There’s a lot of projection at the position because only a handful look the part in hs, yet two years later there are five times that many on college rosters. So many of the top tackles in college weren't on the radar as 4-5* guys coming out.
